This is the third of 5 play-in tournaments in this side series, with 8 bots competing for a chance to take on the bounty bot and the winner of that bounty fight advancing to the tournament of champions.

Rotator is the bot with a bounty on its head this week, and there are some powerful bots in the field trying to take it down. Uppercut, Icewave, and Gruff are gritty and proven veterans, and Glitch is a hotshot rookie who went undefeated during season 6 (including a huge upset over Hydra) only to be forced to forfeit their spot in the main tournament due to technical issues. As a reminder, please put any discussion of match results under spoiler tags until 24 hours after the episode airs out of consideration for people who can't watch the episode live, especially if you decide to watch the episode early on Discovery+ before it airs on TV. Showtime for us TV viewers is 8PM EST tonight on Discovery, about half an hour from the time of this post.

IT'S ROBOT FIGHTIN' TIME! Dragon Slayer vs. Uppercut is opening the show.

Uppercut knocked out Dragon Slayer with a brutal shot to the chin, and next up is Icewave vs. Free Shipping. Yes, a bot with a gas-powered engine for its spinner vs. a bot with a huge flamethrower. Something might go kaboom.

Is there a youtube channel or anything where the fights go up? Even just the week 1 and 2 fights?

No kaboom, but Free Shipping still managed to burn Icewave out of the competition. Also, Mammoth got driven to extinction off-screen and Gruff wasn't tough enough to survive Glitch's spinner. The second round is about to start.

No, the only fights they put on YouTube these days are the ones that get cut from the TV show, either for time constraints or because the fight just wasn't very good for TV. If you can't watch the episodes as they air on Discovery, they show an encore presentation the next Wednesday on TBS (right after All Elite Wrestling Dynamite) or you can subscribe to the Discovery+ streaming service and watch them there.

We got the kaboom after all, it's just that Free Shipping was the one that ended up going kaboom.

glitch won despite looking like crap for the first half of the match

Glitch vs. Gruff was like a drunken bar fight, but one side is slightly better at fighting while drunk.

Glitch vs. Retrograde was brutal to watch in more ways than one. Glitch was almost completely uncontrollable and still moving around like a drunken stupor, but it still did a ton of visible damage to Retrograde while Retrograde didn't do much visual damage back to Glitch. Glitch got the split judge's decision, but it was a very close one.

The tournament finals are next.

honestly glitch does not look battle ready

They really need to work on their mobility. I think those omni-wheels just aren't getting enough traction on the arena floor.

Holy shit! Nothing went the way I thought it would this night.

It was shaky along the way, but that was one hell of a finale. Glitch are now an undefeated 7-0 in their BattleBots career, and very few teams can say that they started their career with that many consecutive wins. If they can work out the mobility issues, Glitch has the makings of an all-time great.
