Honestly, I'm starting to be convinced IGCD is our scum after all. This is starting to look desperate, and by now, a scum Sbell or Plum could easily set up IGCD for the mislynch and win the game. No Kill here just doesn't make sense.

I know I was advocating for the No Lynch the entire time, but scum refusing to kill, even if it's a valid tactic, is cowardice here.

What a weird situation, because the loop would deterministically eventually end in IGCD getting lynched so would the game still end in a draw if it random picked no lynch over IGCD?

Turns out adding these newfangled rules is harder than anticipated

That's correct. I got rid of the locked vote rule, so you can change your vote.

I figured with everyone casting a vote, they'd all be locked in and the day would be over. But if this gives Sbell a chance to vote IGCD, I'll take it. It's one advantage we'll finally have over scum if they can't force the day to end without a majority lol

I thought isquen was called scum because he chose to vote igcd who was on the day 1 train.

he figured scum must be on the train and therefore chose to start by voting igcd and probing him.

this was treated as scummy.

Meh. Stuck at work til 5 Eastern, on a short break. My logic is thus:

If Kirby is scum, it comes to light easily enough once you get beyond the fluff walls.

If Kirby is not scum, it looks awful for me if I place a vote to -1 and scum hammers.

Also, scum team is not awake yet, because presuming there are three, Kirby would be boned already - unless scum is already hovering on him. Mathematically, I dunno about that one (even in a simple game that seems heavyhanded) so best shot is to focus on someone that's on the wagon with the presumption that one of them is scum. And not Kirby, because that's way, way too on the nose for him.

Day 1 trains suck.

Self-voting has its uses. The usage by these two members was not it.

Plum made it known you were town multiple times in his desperation.

He was mad that you were voting no lynch instead of voting him, which doesn't make sense unless he knows you are town that needs you to not keep no lynch an option. He shouldn't be mad SCUM isn't voting a Town member otherwise.

When I said I read IGCD and Sultan town for sure and defended against lynching them all game when alive... why do you IMMEDIATELY go back to the perceived low hanging fruit the moment I am gone? Like, you guys have an issue where you go after the same exact people every game when you are unsure.

Self-voting on its own is harmless and can be used to make a statement.

Hammering a self-vote as any faction is just giving up and throwing the game.

But I mean, it's not like anything significant will be lost if we ban self-voting. Its proper uses are niche, and evidently, its misuses are too prevalent.

Kudos to Plum for changing up his scum game from the previous times. I feel like a fool now for buying into your arguments about scum wanting to avoid the loss. I got greedy for the win and should've thought harder about my "it makes no sense that IGCD anticipated a stalemate in advance" argument.

Usage of a self-vote should be to show your inability to not feel threat to pressure, to end your own life so that the information you are holding will finally be believed instead of neutralized by scum and not listening town, or when you have a role that your own lynch power can be used successfully.

You said... scum wouldn't have made the Corrik kill and sacrificed Ben unless they were confident the remaining member could win... then didn't even try after that point.

Sultan and IGCD both on their death throngs railed it was Plum... and yinz never even considered it.

Hell, at least tie plum and IGCD at 2-2 and let random decided the fate.

SBell has been modkilled for knowingly posting after a stop. He was also Town Vanilla

Kirby has been night killed. He was yet also Town Vanilla.

Plum has won the game for himself and Ben! He was Mafia Goon.

No flavor, because you guys clearly didn't want to wait until after I took my post-workuout shower. Excuse me for needing a little time for caring for myself.

Additionally, I wanted to pose some questions:

1. *Already being discussed* Do we allow self-voting, ever? Do we ban it as a community or let each host decide? My experience was limited. I just went off with what Chris had said was standard.
2. What is the standard procedure for handling nighttime posts? Did I handle that correctly?
3. We are scrapping the MYLO/LYLO locked vote thing. It does not work here. Agree?
4. How the hell do we navigate these tie phases? Like... do we not need to force people to play to win at some point? I hated hosting this the last few days. Just hated it.
5. Did you like me combining the servers with roles and such, or do you like having separate ones?

Plum, your no kill was not a good decision and almost made you lose. It was practically the only way you could have lost this game too. Big oof on that.

Also the rule for stalemate is supposed to be 3 consecutive turns, not cycles. A no kill - no lynch - no kill should have been a stalemate. It puts the pressure on the initiator because they can try it but if the other side refuses to play ball on it then they have to put up or accept the tie.

Yeah, the number of scum being inadvertently lied to the game was a big mistake and BCT knows that. It just had no way to be alleviated once the game started.

I don't claim day 2 if I am not sure there is a 3 scum and a doctor.

So I want to make a post about the no kill situation

No killing at 4 is fairly standard, and the backlash to it was somewhat surprising. I was late to No lynch so being the only person not no lynching I was in a bind.

• IGCD would never kill there. All it would do is make it easier to die
• Sbell and Kirby can't be scum. If they were scum they would have just joined me on IGCD

So the only thing I could do was no kill and argue that IGCD was playing for the tie. It was the only real option. Killing anyone at that point would completely dismantle the argument and make me look like scum.

And it ended up convincing Kirby, so there you go

Simple mafia ended up being a defining game and I think there should be two rules.

1. Self voting not allowed. This has always been the standard in my games at least.

2. Stalemate results in scum win. If there's no power or threatening player alive at end game, scum simply has no inventive to night kill and is playing to win by doing so. Town is not playing to win by refusing to come to a decision that will win the game.

I don't agree with this.

The problem is that Kirby was the obvious kill, but Kirby was also the person who most thought I was town.

So I could either

• Kill Kirby, and possibly have Sbell flip on me in the final 3 (And given his history with me this is plausible)
• Kill Sbell, and have Kirby be very confused why Sbell was killed over him or me
• No kill

I think option 3 was definitely the right choice, but I needed to be a bit quicker and eager to no lynch at MYLO Part 1. Being the only vote not on No Lynch really crimped my options
