I'd say most FE fans know exactly what they want. People's reaction to Fates, Shadows of Valentia, and Three Houses lined up pretty closely with pre-release knowledge (if anything, people were giving Fates the benefit of the doubt too much).

Out of curiosity, what pre-reveal knowledge was that? I feel like pre-reveal, Revelations got the most hype of any of the Fates games, and that definitely didn't wind up living up to expectations. Did people expect beforehand for Conquest to have some of the best gameplay in the series too?

Personally I thought the trailers for Fates were much better than any of the Three Houses trailers, but ended up liking 3H more. I don't think FE is the sort of series anyone can really judge from trailers.

Conquest iirc was specifically touted as being made for the more hardcore people, so the implication to me is that yes, it was expected to be better gameplay wise

I'm pretty pleased to have a voice acted MC back, Avatar or otherwise...though are they still technically an Avatar character if they're fully voiced? Either way, after 3 Hopes it made it's abscense in 3 Houses all the more pressing.

Also in surprised to find out there's no official Fire Emblem English Twitter account. I hope we do get one for these little tidbits, but we'll see.

As down as I am I'm still very excited for any updates and nuggets we get.

I want an official info dump for the game already. Mostly just pics of what all the playable characters are so I can fairly judge them on how appealing they are or arent

OK, now THIS controversy I remember. I had a friend of mine vent about how terrible the FE:H fanbase was and that was my introduction to it.

Yeah it's super in line with their usual stuff, and they've been getting harassed since yesterday pretty hard.

I actually do like their style in general, but I think the Engage lead is the worst of their designs. It's just a setting issue, I love their style with the more modern and hip outfits, especially the FGO character.

Isn't Lucina generally considered 17 in canon?

I mean it's a fictional character so it's kind of irrelevant, but still.

I think the issue is that the clothes here make the character look shorter than she actually is if you did a head to body thing.

Due to the timeskip, endgame Lucina has to be at least 19-20 years old unless Awakening got really dumb.

Does this mean if we play Radiant Dawn, we'll turn into lizards?

Lucina is old enough to get married for whatever thats worth in Awakenings universe I guess

According to Warriors, Chrom and Lucina are the same age (19 at the start of the game).

i honestly and truly have no idea but she's like 20 to 22 in my head canon and that's what matters

Elise is technically an adult.

It does get weird with some of the kid characters at least. I completely forgot Percy existed

Etrian Odyssey is in contention for my favorite series but some of the art in some of the games has been.... questionable.

They didnt specify only drawing eh MCs, so its safe to say that its all of the characters.

A few posts today that are just existing screens and basic info we knew, but they did put a new short clip out.

Animations are really slick in this, and effects look good.

The Engage leaker, who obviously had the skills to pay the bills since, is saying late 2023/early 2024 for the FE4 Remake.

It's a normal Fire Emblem game.

Now that the post-trailer furor has died down, and I've had time to think about FE Engage with a rational mind...

I stand by all my complaints and would like to add that the female character designs in general look bad. Faces are way too moeblob.

I've cooled down quite a bit from "so upset about the reveal that it overrode my financial situation improving and ruined my day", lol.

I don't like the designs in game but all the fanart has been fun and that's helped soothe me.

I think seeing the leak so far ahead of time was really damning because everyone had already come to the conclusion of "this is too dumb to be real". And if course my other worry is well documented.

But even seeing that 10 second clip on Twitter has me back in the ring. I'm looking forward to the games release and have faith in the quality of the product even if I don't have much faith in the narrative. If I'm wrong about that, then wonderful, would love to be!

Logo is honestly the worst part though, so boring! Give me some FLARE, IS!
