With the cyberpunk anime coming it seems to be bringing in a lot of nonanime watchers to the show.

This is just from my experience on reddit mind you, but its causing a lot of fights.

So there's a character named Rebecca who is essentially a small adult who looks like a small girl. Her first appearance in the show is her groping a mans junk and its implied she gives him a good old-fashioned for a brief time.

Later she appears in just her underwear. A lot of people watching the anime who arent normal users are commenting how its creepy for a kid to be doing that stuff and the anime fans are getting very defensive over how its normal for anime and how its their faults for thinking like that.

I'm not a big anime watcher, but i did think it was weird that the character was like shown to be seen as childlike in the show since they have a scene where she cant get into a bar.

Petite is Lucy who's next to david in the yellow jacket. Rebecca is small and childlike throughout the show.

Yeah from that angle she doesn't look like a loli.

I tried to watch Science Fell in Love. Don't think they put a loli in that.

Yeah it is kinda weird. And a lot of the people doing it are the same ones that are into the fringe pedo conspiracies too. Like they're all "See this text message where this guy says he likes pepperoni? That means he likes little boys. This cabinet for sale on an office supply website? Actually a child sex slave" but when people say "Hey, that subculture named after a book about a child being raped thats centered around fetishizing childlike clothing and behavior seems a little strange" they get instantly triggered

I was literally marathoning that slime Isekai then they introduced this loli character who's almost naked with her butt crack showing and killed my desire to continue the show. Does she go away later on?

There's a bit of a line there though. A literal child's body yeah, but sometimes women that just happen to be short and aren't rocking DDs get called "loli" even when that's not true.

(Also I feel like literal children shouldn't count. Like if someone has a 7 years old body and they're 7 years old... that's just a kid.)

The casual viewer is generally too stupid to distinguish between them though.

drawing a character who looks like a sexualized minor and then calling them an entrepreneur doesn't excuse the fact that they are drawn like a sexualized minor.

I don't play Genshin, but yeah she seems more like an adult than the typical loli.

In terms of the loli thing I don't think it's weird to represent that at all. Different people in different situations have different maturity levels. Anime illustrates this by using setting premise and characters.

The person voicing the character is an actor, and should be treated as one.

Its not just anime fans who are defending Rebecca. Shes popular with everyone whos watched the show, but people who act like all lolis are bad are giving Rebecca a pass because she doesnt count.

Anime fan here, loli stuff just doesn't jell with me. Too creepy. I also wouldn't want anyone who sexualizes lolis anywhere near a school.

As an anime fan, lolis are ok as long as they are not sexualized. A kid should be a kid.

Yeah, thats a running gag. Theyre (the father/daughter) both open to playing porn games and theres an occasional background joke about the father getting taken away by police when he shows up to his daughters school.

But the other adults of the show look just as young as these characters, so its not limited to a gag, its the entire series art style.

My issue is that you can draw kids that look like kids lol. Look at "Spirited Away" the main character is 10 years old and looks like she's 10 years old and pretty much acts like it.

this topic is trying to defend these oversexualized "minors" who are really "adults". Drawing a character that looks like a kid but does adult things that are sexual or borderline sexual is wrong.

Regardless if the character is an "entrepreneur". Also, for the petite thing. If you took a character like Faye from Cowboy Bepop and shrunk her height she would still look like an adult.

Setting is a restaurant. A loli eats with her two parents. The presence of the loli signifies maturity as a motif in the scene.
