I never beat Lufia 2.

Why?

I beat pretty much all rpgs back then.....it was about the only exception.

It had a dungeon in it, kinda a roguelike dungeon where you could only bring certain items out etc. Was a blast.

Problem is......it was broken!!!

You could not kill the king slime at the end.

Which frustrated me soooo much I never finished it. Also by the time I actually got to the king slime it had been so long I forgot the rest of the game/adventurers etc lol.

It was one of the few RPGs I didn't own back then. I did eventually beat it years later. I was writing an item guide too but stopped.

I can't see the point in doing speed runs like that. I would much rather play through the whole game and enjoy it more thoroughly. It was and still is a great game.

you can do both. one type of speedrun (glitched) does not cheapen the experience of other types of speedruns (glitchless, whose runs are down to 3.5 hours, or 100%, which has a run posted at around 8 hours) or regular runs. idk why people act like it's a competition that detracts from regular gameplay

glitched runs are more of a technical exercise than regular play. some, like glitched 100% in pokemon RBY, are downright fascinating in how bizarrely they operate on their own internal rules

Umm, of course you can - it's even required for 100% completion

Holy crap, it was only my game that was broken/corrupted?

I thought everyone had that problem at the end of that dungeon. When the final slime boss showed up the game would crash, every time.

I swear I remember hearing that was a normal thing back then that happened to everyone, but it was before the internet was as much of a thing as it is now.

The final slime room is rather glitched out, but i haven't heard of any crashes there

I don't even see how that can be called a speed run they aren't even playing the game
