JK Rowling has responded to critics of her controversial trans views, stating her royalty cheques help remove 'any pain', after they questioned how she is able to sleep at night.
JK Rowling, the author of the enormously popular Harry Potter books and film franchise, has been under fire in recent years for her continued anti-trans and transphobic opinions.
The author, who sometimes goes by the pen name Robert Galbraith, was accused of being transphobic after writing a series of tweets that copped heat back in 2020.
Rowling has continued to double-down on the statements, reposting transphobic tweets, openly identifying as TERF (a feminist who excludes the rights of transgender women from their advocacy of women's rights.), returning her Human Rights award and penning lengthy personal-essays that perpetuate transphobic ideologies.

She's already been retweeting white nationalists and religious extremists and misogynists every few weeks for like 3 or 4 years. Any time she says stuff and blows up, they'll go "thanks for speaking the truth/ standing up for women" and she retweets. And it isn't like she doesn't know who they are, she has been seen at TERF events and stuff actually being buddy buddy with some of these anti feminists who are women but think women should be banned from working or being anything other than baby makers at home all day.

We call the UK "TERF Island" because of the media there praising anti trans bigots like her while the same media never gives any other positions air time. The BBC does this a lot. Hell, there's some data showing that the support for trans people went from like 60% in 2016 to about 38% in 2021.

Ehhh. She's definitely a hateful person with abhorrent views, but this is kinda clickbait. The question was are you bothered by losing customers. Her answer in that context makes perfect sense.

If it was just, "how do you sleep at night?" without the mention of losing out on potential sales, then this would be worthy of outrage.

You really shouldn't because art is political and as such supporting their art means you're supporting their politics. You might be okay if they're dead but otherwise, nope, no exceptions.
