This story is so fucking creepy in so many ways...

We have been sending this homework assignment for years and youre the only one complaining about it.

Even the fucking cops were like...

She additionally contacted the police, who advised her and her husband not to submit the picture.

I think you guys should do a parental withdraw for McKenzie, details Misty of the call. And I said, I cant. I cant do that. We refuse to withdraw her.

He said, Okay, thank you for saying that and continued on saying that Well, were going to proceed with an administration withdraw.

Everyone involved with this fiasco should be fired and barred from being in any profession that deals with children in the most peripheral of ways...

The same WJAX-TV report confirms the Dunhams daughter was later informed she was no longer a student at Victory Christian Academy without, according to Misty, any explanation.

Well that explains that

Honestly, it seemed questionable until they were told to do it in their pajamas or whatever. With that, I could give them the benefit of a doubt that this is just a silly assignment for kids.

But their reaction to the parents understandably questioning it is beyond awful and highly suspicious. In a functioning world that should seriously warrant a government investigation.

Yeah, that's why I think it's probably a grooming thing. The request itself is weird, but largely harmless. If they're weeding out everyone that tries to push back against the school asking kids to something so weird an discomforting, though, that tells me they're trying to make sure they don't get similar questions asked later when they start making less harmless requests.

That sounds like a dumb assignment anyway. What knowledge is that assessing? Taking a picture and emailing it? That was relevant during COVID (I told students to draw me a picture and submit a photo or scan of the page to Google Classroom just so I knew who could do that for when they had to submit assignments online), but I'm not sure why a student that young would need to know how to do that now.

If for whatever reason they still needed to assess that skill, it would be way less sus if they just said "send a photo of you reading somewhere in your house. Kudos if it's somewhere funny". But the school's response was way out of line. Not a surprise from a Christian private school.

You mean given the Catholic Church's history of sexually abusing children.

Without looking it up, I actually kind of doubt this is a Catholic school. Most Catholic schools tend to brand themselves as such; "Christian Academies" are usually affiliated with other churches.

Christians are scum, change my mind.

**edit, kinda joking, since there are the odd nice ones, but really, I still find those people give a pass to their less savoury partners in Christiandom.
