Hear me out. I'm not a physicist or chemist but a failed business man became president so I feel I'm qualified enough to discuss this.

Everyone at some point has lost a sock or pair of underwear in the dryer. When thinking critically about it on hours and end, the centrifuge combined with the chemical reaction of fabrics, detergentz and/or dryer sheets must create some kind of reaction which briefly opens some kind of wormhole powerful enough to nab a sock or underwear.

Unless you have a more logical conclusion as to where they go?

FWIW I don't believe in gnomes.

Stuff actually gets trapped inside the dryer where clothes arent supposed to end up, but sometimes do

a technician showed me one time, you can open them up and there are lots of articles of clothing that slip through and get wound up on the inside of the part that spins

not just socks and undies either but sometimes entire shirts and other things, if it happens too much itll actually break the dryer
