I live in Phoenix and grew up in a suburb of it. I lived up north too for awhile in Prescott and Sedona. When I first moved to AZ I was in Tucson so I've basically been all over the state.

I much prefer living closer to Phoenix. Small town Arizona is closer to the stuff you describe. Up north is very nice to visit though.

I don't feel tensions more than anywhere else. Homeless problem is bad but thats pretty much the same everywhere.

Yeah in regards to my homeless comment that was just an observation

I know the feeling. People around me are amassing weapons and ammo, thinking war is gonna happen

I could be an ass, but I really recommend trying to learn enough to know the basics of what's going on in politics...when it effects everyone, it can be valuable to know what crappy president is preferable.

It's scary. I'm surround by far right extremist and many of them legitimately feel that if the dems win the midterms the only way to save the country is to take up arms.

People generally don't base their political opinions off knowing enough, they just have them especially the people who have conspiracy theories as the entirety of their political opinions. Additionally in my experience the people who try to play the "I don't support anyone" card are far right wing, it's basically an extension of the "both sides" card. I'm not saying I know your beliefs I'm just saying you're going to get a healthy dose of skepticism.

There is also this is a dying board that rarely sees new users just constant alts of regular posters.

I mostly see people from outside Arizona say that. If I say its hot out to someone who lives in Miami then they just its a dry heat.

Coming from a place where dropping below 70% humidity at any point through the summer is rare and 35-40 humidexes happen pretty often, I will say that I prefer a comparable dry heat to that. At least with dry heat, sweating actually works. Getting into the 45+ range, though, that's still stupid hot and is going to be very unpleasant regardless of the humidity.

This is just entirely intended to invoke a negative response. Saying "I'm concerned that actual fucking lunatics armed with guns are attempting to stop people from voting" is phony entitlement. News flash fascist people have a right to vote (barring some felony stuff).

About 45 years ago when I lived in Tucson and Wickenberg AZ 100-110 was hot. It was really hot compared to the rest of the country, and when I left I was like, yeah, not even visiting AZ again in the future.

Not this last summer but the summer of 2021 we hit 115 in Olympia WA (and was around that temp for 3-4 days). We always hit over 100 at this point as well.

Old hot in AZ temps are becoming the norm many places, even places like WA/CA that people moved to in the past for moderate temps.

It's crazy.

I still won't visit AZ though cause I gotta imagine if it gets to be 115 here, it's probably over 120 there sometimes.

If that crazy Lake lady becomes governor then all those militia gangs are going to be shooting at anyone who looks gay or brown.

For real. She said she wants to change the way we vote completely here.. It's going to be really insane if we don't vote right here. Hobbs has barely been running a campaign so I'm feeling legit worried. My local district always elects D reps for local Gov so I feel a little more safe in my own bubble. But I live in an area with a lot of black and brown people so if that does happen it'll be a target. I'm just wishing people didn't have fucking brain worms.
