Sort of the same way Xenosaga is. It's like saying the Japanese putting references to Odin and Fenrir in the Final Fantasy games means they show a profound understanding of Norse religion. The Japanese steal surface-level aesthetics from tons of real world religions and philosophies, but rarely ever get them right.
