It would be good for both the employee (more time) and employer (more productive). Most companies provides free coffee, tea, snacks, etc. to their employees to make them more productive. He sleeps at his job during the days he works but comes home on his off days. If he stayed period they'd expect him to work everyday. As it is when he sleeps over if something comes up during his off hours he's still expected to handle it. So he technically works 24 hour days for 7 days at a time.
