watching a boss rush (and some cutscenes) video now. I've liked what I've seen so far.

Finally home, now I can finally play.

It's funny that Kratos is the funniest character just by being so laconic and blunt.

My favorite joke in the series is when Kratos is telling that story to Artreus in the first game about the crab in our Artreus finishes the story and Kratos is like yes that's the story

I played some today and I'm loving it. This is the first God of War game I've actually played. I watched some playthroughs of the first God of War game on PS4/Xbox One.

The fifth poem collectible is the funniest one so far. It's about Death Stranding and the description reads, "A Kvasir work of brilliance that, if misunderstood, proves the ignorance of the reader."

Havent started yet. I wanted to replay the first to remind myself of the plot and Im kinda glad I did because I forgot so much but Im just now on the way to Helheim in 2018 and Im feeling the burn already.

I might have to play something in between these two so I dont get burnt out early in Ragnarok.

Story's going some wild places already, here's hoping they tie it up well.

In the meantime, I'm watching the Completionist/Jesse Cox's LP of it and they pointed out that Laufey looks like Deborah Ann Woll. That made me realize, gee, she also sounds like Deborah Ann Woll. And that made me look up Deborah Ann Woll and yeah, she plays Laufey.

You really have to watch your surroundings, roll around quite a bit to keep all enemies in front of you.

Cannon fodder is pretty tanky, and I like their aggression on this difficulty. Two mobs will attack at the same time vs taking turns dying 1 by 1.

I really like their take on Thor and Odin. That first fight was a doozy, almostttt had to turn the difficulty down. But mama aint raise no punk

It honestly reminds me of a souls game, in terms of difficulty at this setting.

Yeah Ive definitely died to groups of regular mobs. Positioning is key on the harder difficulties.

And this is why I don't touch harder difficulties any more. I'm doing Give Me Balance and I'm dying to the same things y'all are and it feels pretty damn tough!

Fair enough. I rarely go back through for second game, so I like to struggle a bit.

Are you guys rocking more offensive or defensive gear?

Yeah, my last two games were Elden Ring and Horizon:FW, both games which rely very heavily on dodging. I've had to get out of that mindset pretty hard because the shield is not a gameplay mechanic you can avoid.

Offensive. In all games, I never favor the defensive side. Even when I try to go for a tank like build, I still make it more offensive than ideal.

Just beat Nidhogg on GMGOW difficulty. And damn, what an awesome experience.

I think what annoys me is that they seem to always give hints when I'm on my way to figuring it out, but they're completely silent when I'm actually having trouble lol.
