The rest of the film is given over to an unimaginative quest for revenge and advertisements for upcoming Disney content, eventually coming back around to familiar Marvel dogma that the most powerful weapons in the world are best left unchecked in the hands of royal families and benevolent billionaires, who will always have our best interests in mind.

The in memoriam stuff: beautifully done. The other two hours and 35 mins? Honestly about as bad (and certainly as cruddily lit) as Marvel gets.

Significant portions feel more concerned with setting up Phase Five of the MCU than telling a singular story.

The parts of this that click do so very well but honestly its emotional swings work better on paper than in practice, it's in desperate need of narrative momentum, and the central conflicts lack the first one's galvanic thorniness. Also, without spoiling it, the best scene in the movie has the unfortunate side effect of reminding you of just what is missing here.

None of what Zithers has said is irrational. The movie can be entertaining and merit a positive review but still be an overall bad movie on the merits of it's story telling. Especially if the movie is largely focused on setting up future movies.

after how average Love And Thunder was, i think im done with watching MCU movies in theaters...

Three days later, WAKANDA FOREVER just feels like a big pile of stuff. I could not be more bored or burnt out on the whole tired, unwieldy MCU enterprise.
