oh shit darn space lost that's not good. maybe i really should've kept blue sky on the main set, got too worried it would underperform though and thought this could do better than i expected at first. guess not

also heck enthusia being a 0-2 victim is just tragic. to be fair, g-darius also ending up as that would've been a similarly criminal act, and at the very least, all its top songs remained unused so it's good to come back next year if the no returning songs rule is still around

honestly feel bad for every losing song in these particular 2 days of results, though they all did respectably at least (no golden nocturne getting goldenslaughtered results here, mercifully (yes that joke was bad but i couldn't resist saying it once i thought of it))

Now that we're half-way through the contest, I thought it would be fun to run two polls. Tell us your favorite new discoveries so far (those that you discovered around the time of BOST6 nominations or later), and tell us what music (so far this contest) that you've known since before then. If you'd like, you can also note favorite music within setlists that haven't been in matches (yet), but I want more emphisis on music that have been in actual matches.

I went with eight for each. They are approximately ordered from favorite to least favorite. All of my long-time favorites are stuff that are either in or close to my official top 100 vgm, or would be ranked near that range if I had remembered to actually rate them. Massive X is only 54th, though--there are tracks I've ranked higher that are in some setlists, but they haven't been in any matches.

I periodically go through and rate all my music discoveries as a way to sort out what's worth keeping and what's not worth keeping (among other purposes). And since I had the ratings handy it was simple to create my top eight, so it didn't actually take too much effort!

Yeah, it's probably been in some vgm guessing games or whateve~! And I just checked... invivo was on the G-Darius BOST5 setlist! But there's a 90% chance I did not ever listen to it because during noninations that contest there was lots of music I never got around to listening to. (but okay, I just need to listen to G-Darius as a whole)

I attempted to think of my favs but I don't remember the names. In VGMC I got to know the tracks pretty well as I did a favs bracket beforehand and obv there's significantly fewer tracks to listen to overall, here I don't even remember which tracks have come up >_>

Yeah that's my problem to, especially because I basically didn't have time to listen to songs in full during nominations either.

That said my favorite discovery is almost certainly the Persona 2 Opening theme. Honorable mention to the Genshin Impact soundtrack in general, though it actually turns out most of my favorite songs I found from that weren't on the BOST setlist >.>

Yes, a lot of us had that problem during nominations, but with actual matches, all you have to do is to save the track to a playlist whenever you come across one you like.... I have about 35 tracks saved in my own BOST6 playlist.

I obviously wanted Ring Ring Ring to win since I voted for it and nominated the game, but this much of a blowout makes me sad because this is probably my favorite Sonic Adventure song I'm aware of. I've actually liked the Sonic music in this contest in general much more than I usually seem to.

RIP Kirby Triple Deluxe. What's interesting is that the game has now used all six tracks from its BOST5 setlist (and nothing else) - three in BOST5 and three in BOST6. I suppose you could say it has now accomplished exactly what Plasman intended!

I'm ecstatic about Gates to Infinity's victory! I never thought it could make round 4 (granted, snubs setlists are not nearly as strong as in the main bracket). I admit that I was skeptical about Bittercold ~ Final Battle's ability to win a match, but it did a lot better than expected, so I'm glad I accepted the input from other users to put it on the setlist. I don't like Gates' chances against Samurai Showdown next round, though... That game has been dominating its matches.
