I tried taking notes but it's severely detrimental to me because my mind likes to just focus on one thing at a time so if I'm typing up stuff and thinking about said stuff, the next 5 minutes of dialog are completely unheard from me and I'll miss basically everything and have no idea what's happening.

I read Han's notes.

And even then I have such an awful memory, it's made especially difficult when there's 10,000 characters to keep track of and remember. I'm just trying to go with the flow these days and not bother about trying to remember everything. I feel like I have less idea what's going on, but at least I'm not stressed 100% of the time.

If I DO take notes in session, it's just key words and names that might be important, if I do anything more than that, I'll 100% be missing out on stuff being said or happening and asking for things to be repeated is no bueno.

This is the issue I run into too, but admittedly sometimes my mind just wanders anyway and then I still miss context on stuff

So it helps to have Han notes open as backup

Can I rank an entire planet in a single spot? No? Well, to an extent, that's what I'm doing here, because I adore the red lanterns.

We visited the Green Lanterns, this vast society of diverse and interesting and a little uptight space cops. Then we met the Star Sapphires, who are, for the most part, at best fuckin crazy gaga and at worst evil megalomaniacs. Then we met the big, scary, evil Red Lanterns and they're just, like... pretty reasonable guys? I mean, they're driven by an unquenchable thirst for rage and bloody revenge against those who've done them wrong but, like, I get that.

One of them's a cat that was horribly abused. One of them is a circle. Several of them can't speak and can only angrily vomit blood, and I can't help but feel for them. I mean, who hasn't been so utterly devastated by the cruelties of the universe that they were reduced to violently vomiting blood?

At the center of it all is Atrocitus who, again, very reasonable guy. His arguments are well-stated, he's a great leader, and, much like some of the other best characters in the campaign, can see potential in those who most need to be seen. We've only really met with the guy fairly briefly but I'm already excited to see how his plot (and/or plotting, see what I did there) unfolds.

Hint for #49: This character has the shortest write-up of any of the 20-some I've written so far because I like them a lot but haven't put in the time to really interact with them

49. Misty Kilgore

Misty has already been ranked by 4 others so I'm sure you have the basic gist of WHO she is by now, at least as much as can really be said thus far.

Misty is perhaps the highest on the list of characters I need to talk to more, because I would have a lot to say to her and learn about her. By all means, she's one of the most interesting characters in the campaign so far. Her way of speaking. The bizarre state of her mind. The fact that she's the daughter of Gloriana Tenebrae, the previous leader of Faerie, the place directly tied to my character! She has all the pieces to be a character that would rank very highly for me if I actually just put some 1on1 time toward her.

Hint for #48: This character can fly, probably better than Spirit can but not as good as Bloodfruit

I definitely would enjoy more Bloodfruit interactions with Bloodfruit. I think the two would have such immediate difficulties with each other, but Bloodfruit has always had an attachment to people who are living puzzling lives, and that would fit well into her index of relationships.

I can't believe Bloodfruit thinks she can fly better than the Parademon.

48. Parademon

Bloodfruit is absolutely challenging Parademon to a race around Antarctica and Scarlet shall eat his worlds.

Everything about having Parademon as part of the team seems like something that shouldn't be possible. I mean, parademons are the enemy, right? And that's exactly how things started with K'Ray. He was a parademon that the always-reliable team of Bloodfruit and Brennus managed to take down in an epic airfight.

We captured him for purposes of... gathering information, I think? It was like 2 years ago at this point. What I remember most definitively is K'Ray dangling upside down in the Secret Six's base, antenna broken, the Secret Six arguing around him, and Bloodfruit and Brennus hanging around trying to chat with what would become an unexpected ally (and even more unknowingly foreshadowing the approaching loss of two Secret Six members!). K'Ray is kind of a goofball, but he's fun to have around and stands out in an already ragtag group of anti-villains.

47. Dewormer

So, it may have been touched on, but the way sessions generally work is that it's split up into two each week, with a team of (usually) 5 assigned to each session. Now, some people will tune into every session, whether they're in it or not. I've never really been one of those people. I tune in to listen when I can, but even when I do, I have the tendency to get most invested in scenes I'm somewhat involved in.

That being said, of every scene I've listened to that I wasn't personally involved in, NOTHING had me cracking up the way Dewormer's nihilistic wishes for death to the innocent, horrified Brennus did. Scar's increasingly rapid spirals into psychological robotic nightmare fuel paired with Brennus' shock, then panic, then full on desperate terror was some sort of masterclass in dark humor. And of course, that's not even getting into the later appearance of the Dewormers going full Dalek on Z'onn Z'orr.

I don't know if Dewormers ever actually do anything in DC Comics or not, but among Z'onn Z'orr's fallen, perhaps nobody has had more powerful last words: "Please, kill me Brennus!"

Hint for #46: Could be argued to be the most universally liked character in the campaign

I didn't think Dewormer would rank because you weren't on the session, but it's really cool it did! That was one of those great improv moments I'm really proud of.

Thought at least Han might guess this one! Maybe I should've worded it as "likeable" instead of "liked."

Everyone who meets Squire loves Squire. Everyone loved Squire from the first moment she showed her face in London. A city full of compelling characters and storylines, and still Squire manages to stand out as perhaps one of the few objectively good people remaining in the city.

We found a character going only as Knight, who was essentially the depressed and apathetic Batman of London, and if he was supposed to be Batman, Squire was his Robin. But a version of Robin that's just way more into heroics and saving the city than her Batman. Squire is always upbeat, and serves as perhaps the sole source of real inspiration to people that desperately need some to believe in.

Hint for #45: This character has a tendency to really run their mouth without actually having much to say.

Squire is probably in my top ten characters to play in the campaign; her personality is just utterly infectious. Glad you like her!

45. Antithesis

Yes, Antithesis.

No, I can't tell you my favorite Antithesis line, but when I think of the big bads we've defeated in this campaign, Antithesis is one of the first to come to mind. Everyone has their preferences when it comes to what aspects of DnD and tabletops in general they enjoy the most, and I will fully admit I've always been a combat guy.

If I was still playing Obrov I likely would've grabbed one of those tongues and yanked it right out of one of the big fucker's heads. Or tried to, anyway. Antithesis is an unholy abomination of a monster that we were, despite our best efforts, still ultimately unprepared for, and we tragically lost the heroic Manitou Raven in the battle. We summoned Radio Tuner to help, and he vanished on us, only to later reappear (after we witnessed Antithesis kill a fucking dragon) with the backup we desperately needed.

Ultimately, Antithesis might still be alive, but we still won, and Bloodfruit took a lobbed off chunk of tongue as a trophy for our home base. The fight was perhaps one of the biggest "holy shit, we actually did that" moments of the campaign.

Do I need to explain what's good about Freddy? Basically everyone has ranked him at this point, and for obvious reason. He's perhaps one of the, if not THE, most significant recurring character across the missions we've gone on and plan to go to.

I haven't solo interacted with Freddy much at all, and part of that might be because he's already such a major character in EVERYONE's experience and I have the tendency to gravitate to niche characters that appeal to myself more than everyone else.

But that's no criticism of Freddy at all, as his story has EVERYTHING. Globe-trotting, puzzle-solving, god-hunting. I even solved one of the puzzles! His mission revolves all around solving riddles associated with gods that are tied directly to all the letters in CAPTAIN MARVEL, and those gods are rarely the ones we expect them to be, and the moments we uncover each ones are always some of the best.

Hint for #43: This character appeared on Ermine's ranking.
