What a great, underrated sequel. The only sort-of-a-miss is the lack of music but I kind of like the eerie atmospheric ambience in its place.

I recently beat the first game, played maybe 1/4 of the second game and then beat Doom 64. All for the first time!

I thought the first game was interesting/fun and I'm glad I got to experience it. I didn't like what I played from the second game. It felt too...obtuse, although I liked the enemy variety.

As for Doom 64, I absolutely loved it. I really enjoyed the horror-lite vibes. I liked it more than the original two games.

And now I'm finishing up the last DLC for Quake. Love that as well.

I've never played Doom 64, and always imagined it was just Doom but on the N64. How is it different/better?

Classic Doom is so fun. I wish Doom 64 was moddable like Doom and Doom 2 are.

If you all are feeling creative, go download Doom Builder 64 and start making your own Doom 64 maps. There is a bit to learn about how Doom 64 handles lighting and stuff, but it isn't terrible once you get the hang of it.

It's got a more horror vibe to it. I truly love how the enemy designs are. They look more scary!

Doom 64 is a different game entirely to the original. Separate.

Graphics obviously are much, much better. Level design I thought was terrific. Enemies are 3D models - meaning they can turn and face away from you. No music, instead its replaced by an eerie ambience thats different in each level. All enemies from Doom and Doom II are there, including a new-look Cacodemon. New enemies, like the Shadow Imp, and slightly weaker and current versions of the Baron Of Hell and the Spiderdemon.
