Like its not official but you like it enough.

For me After MGS3 I just consider Deus Ex 2, Human Revolution and Mankind Divided the sequels to Metal Gear Solid.

MGS4 is just ridiculously bad at story MGSV all 3 parts are stupid hate the story. Deus Ex gives me a futuristric secret agent I just pretend Adam Jensen works for the new Foxhound.
When I encounter one of the many robot enemies I just growl yell Metal Gear!?

Same stuff, just set outside of the Star Wars universe and its real time combat.

I thought Battle of Olympus was Zelda 3 until A Link to the Past came out.

Yes headcannon like the games arent related but one feels like such an improvement over the other in your eyes.To the point you just consider it part of the series.

For instance

Sleeping Dogs is my Shenmue 3

Saints Row 2 is GTA4

Red Dead Redemption is more of a sequel to GUN then it is to Red Dead Revolver.

Cities Skylines is an obvious successor to SimCity 4. Planet Coaster to Rollercoaster Tycoon.

Which actually makes me sad that no ones (successfully) tried producing a life simulator to compete with The Sims.

Then I discovered the original Worms game, and when 2 came out, it became and still is a top franchise for me. Armageddon might be my most played game ever.

Donkey Kong 64 feels like a sequel to Banjo-Kazooie and prequel to Banjo-Tooie at the dame time. The world designs feel similar, Grant Kirkope soundtracks, and similar art style.

Bayonetta is made by the DMC team so it wouldnt count in this example. Yes I know thats what a true spiritual sequel is but this topic this is about your spiritual sequel to a series. Best example is Deus Ex to MGS. Deus Ex has monsters, superhumans, clones, cyborgs, robots, stealth, silent pistols AND the story is serious. Metal Gear itself lost its own spirit in MGS4 when it became a comedy 3D anime.

Also

Dragonball Fighter Z to Marvel vs Capcom. 90s cartoon characters teamed up in 3-on-3 fights. This game is closest anything has come to MvC3 even the newer MvC games dont reach the peaks of greatness 3 did. DBFZ is the closest.

Sifu is basically God Hand with better controls and less drugs involved in its creative process.

It's not out yet. I think they're supposed to be putting it out on Switch and Steam initially, with PS4 and such coming later.

Its like Shenmue with no restraint I wish it didnt have guns tho. Even tho disarming guys and then flying dragon kicking them instead of using guns like Jet Li is so satisfying.

Shenmue is more of a Bruce Lee old school kung fu movie. Sleeping Dogs is definitely more like The Raid/Cradle 2 The Grave.

Nothing like zelda. Very few puzzles. Its a platformer. Only similarity is the levelling up of skills and fetchquesting, but really, every game has that

Tenchu -> Sekiro.

Pretty sure if FromSoftware still owned the license it would have been Tenchu.

FAX same color scheme and feels like its in the same world similar music and gameplay

It's on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Sekiro is made by From Software, so it's not a fully stealth focused game like Tenchu was. Just be aware of that going in lol.
