i think zabu is finally going to help me make a deck where jubilee feels less like a forced gimmick

I do think its a mistake here that they still havent given details on how frequently cards will move down a series. All these new cards are pretty hard for the majority of players to care about when its near-impossible to get them. I have yet to see Darkhawk, Sentry, Bast, or Knull in an actual game that Ive played yet even once (Sentry was in my token shop the day it came out though)

Knull is on my shop right now and Ive pinned him but hes 6000 points.

Ive used Darkhawk and Sentry multiple times thanks to Agent Coulson <_<

So far in my first 30 games or so tonight, the tell that Zabu is coming is that they have nothing to play on the first two turns <_<

My Zabu deck just got HARD countered by Leader

for now I think I'll probably skip the season pass this time, don't see a need for zabu even if it does seem to be pretty strong.

i also ended up getting the rogue and patriot winter variants so that's cool

It... I'm having trouble finding a deck for him that is actually FUN but I'll figure something out.

Like I think the key is to make a usable deck that happens to include a few 4s and a Zabu draw helps. Spamming 4s is great and all but yeah it's kinda boring.

This exact thing happened to me.

Then, coincidentally, we both played Dr Doom turn 6.

I'm having fun with my Zabu/Ronan deck but I don't know how viable it is because not drawing Zabu and not drawing Ronan just hurts it a lot and just makes getting through those games a slog.

But when I draw both, it feels pretty satisfying but also like I could be playing a better deck.

Might just slot him in my Omega Red deck to price drop Spidey + Omega Red and see how that works. Not sure who I'll take out though.

someone i played against dropped Spidey + Absorbing Man on turn 5 to block me from playing on two locations on turn 6 (they still lost though). that could be a really annoying / effective combo though, but of course you'll need absorbing man to do it

Debating whether or not I should unpin this Bast to look for Darkhawk instead.

There's a Zabu Darkhawk deck that uses Rockslide, Absorbing Man, and Moon Girl to fill your opponent's deck with rocks. You can also use Crystal to refill your hand and make it pretty consistent. Darkhawk and Mystique consistently getting to like 16+ power AND your opponent is probably drawing rocks all game.

Seems like a lot of fun!

I just got Wave in my Token Shop. Im assuming when she makes all my cards cost 4 energy, if I have Zabu active they then all cost 2 energy. So now Ive added Onslaught to my deck to get him to cost 2 through that combo, and then he makes everyone cost 1 after? And Ive got Moongirl to give me more cards to throw at the opponent.

I feel like it wouldn't - I think Zabu would go off of the original cost based off how other cost-based cards work (but let us know if it does work)

Yeah Wave would not work that way with Zabu. But your (original) 4 cost cards will still cost 2 after a Wave turn so you could play 3 of them on turn 6 and your opponent would be limited to 1 card.

Deathwave runs off the fact that death goes to zero after only four destroys so I could see Zabuwave setting them l to 1

Yeah it didnt work. Darn, that would have been hilarious.

Modified to still stick with the idea of fucking with the opponent using Wave, since her ability doesnt override Zabu and force everyone to cost 4 again.

Maybe this isnt an intentional wording choice but it seems that if something says that it affects X-cost cards it exclusively means cards that cost X to play under normal conditions, while something that says it affects cards that cost X to play it means cards that cost X to play under the current games conditions

for example one thing you can do with Wave is prevent anything from being played in a location with Goose present (and if youve played Sera, your cards will only cost 3, which means that you can still play at Goose)

also note that when you play a card to the board, it displays its original cost again if you examine it

Yeah, like maybe update the text to say base cost/power vs cost/power for current values.

Balance patch coming tomorrow! I'm expecting an Aero nerf maybe back down to 5/6. And whether or not he's overpowered I think we'll see some kind of Leader nerf too. Realistically they'll make him a 6/3 or a 6/2 but I'm hoping for more.

You could have tied mid and would have won.

It was probably a single Swarm that got discarded twice to make 3 swarms on the final turn. Not sure how that happens with so many discards played unless it was crazy bad luck though.

Got Christmas Rockslide that's awesome. Don't care about the rest of them.

Sucks to go down 35 ranks to 10. Why not do a flat 30? I played a lot last month and feel like I have to play a ton more than that just to have a chance at maintaining rank 20.

I just used my last 1000 to but Mister Negative

the next day Psylocke is in my shop, who specifically is such a big help for Mister Negative

my zabu with jubilee support deck is proving to be a lot of fun.

ive got sunspot around to help utilize unused energy the first few turns if Im not lucky enough to pull zabu. And if Im still out of luck, I usually have jubilee by turn 4 to force him out of my deck and into playand by turn 4 ive drawn so many cards that the chances of him being pulled by jubilee are relatively good. Then from then i just have a field day throwing my amassed cards at my opponent in the last two (or three if magik is in play) rounds and things usually end in my favor.

in this match, I thought i was set with dual sunspots until the jerk killmongered me. I thought i had no chance after turn three. I was luckily able to disrupt a good amount with rock slide, and then on turn 5 jubilee miraculously pulled spidey to block the left field off from his bucky play, and then the duplicated jubilee pulled zabu. Then on turn 6 I threw three level 4s and cinched the game.

having a blast, was getting kind of bored with my move deck so this is cool.

Yeah, Swarm didn't get discarded until the final turn. I would describe my discard luck there as "not great" as the very first Moon Knight discarded Ghost Rider which was my intended turn 4 play.... after that I hard committed to Moon Knighting the opponents entire hand away. The only "beneficial" discard I got was Wolverine on turn 5 where he got played middle - where I had no shot of beating Death.

Thinking about it logically though - I shouldn't have played Swordmaster and the left Moon Knight in The Big House on the final turn, since the opponent not playing anything until the final turn indicated they probably didnt have 1,2, or 3 cost cards the whole time - and probably wouldn't have been able to play anything in that zone. So I should have played Swordmaster and Moon Knight mid to tie against Death or played Swordmaster right - which would have ended up tying with Agatha. In both cases I still lose, but would have given me more opportunity to win.

Lol I don't ever pull Zabu until turn 5 or 6, he gets discarded, or I don't get him at all. This card is cursed.

Hela is a truly cursed card. She guaranteed shows up turns 1-3 and is always discarded

Was trying to have fun with her deck but it feels pointless until I have Inivisible Woman (and then I'll never draw Hela or IW will get countered)

America is guaranteed to be pulled last turn, meaning more chance for other cards to get pulled before then.

Begrudgingly I tried out Jubilee and she actually helped. Ronan + Strong Guy when I can pull both are great but I still feel like I can never get both.

like normally a great pull to get free chavez but goddammit what are the odds

Does anyone know how Hela interacts with Giganto? Can she pull him into locations that aren't the left?

havent experienced it personally but given jubilee and lockjaw can play him just fine i assume she can as well

Yes, he can be called elsewhere through Jubilee, Hela, Lockjaw, etc. The card says it can only be played to the left. Play is specifically when you choose to place the card from your hand to the location for its energy cost. No restrictions on him if he wasnt played.

There arent any cards like this yet, but I imagine if they wanted to limit one in that way the wording would be that it can only be in X location, like how Space Throne says only one card can be here for each player,

Yeah, it's more of a one or the other choice I'd say. Since I'm playing Strong Guy, it's better for me to run with Jubilee. Depending on your deck, you may want to play America instead.
