I put it all together. There's no cords that aren't connected. Literally no power whatsoever is getting to the board or anything. I plug it in and turn it on and nothing happens at all. I'm using all brand new components, except for the hard drives, and the power supply/gpu which are like half a year old if that. Any help please this is killing me. I can upload pics or whatever if needed it's just kind of a mess in there so I don't think general pics would even help.

Upload a super high res photo of your computer. Then take a picture, preferably at an angle of the top left corner of the board. And another of the middle where the sata ports are at.

They said it was bad lmao

I just bought it like half a year ago, and it worked fine in my old pc.

Damn that's what I'm worried about, taking it to a place and it's really expensive for them to look at, then having to spend more money on an actual solution.

You need to plug in your front panel connectors in the very bottom right corner of the motherboar (JFP1).

Can you get a better view of that bottom right corner? I think you don't have your FP connectors plugged in.

Those 'thin' cables shouldn't be plugged into JSMB1 header if im correct?

They look like the connecters for the front of your PC. Can you give us the full picture of your motherboard. There should be like a rectangle of pins for those. Maybe on the bottom left/right of your motherboard? Hope you can find it.

If not, can you give us the make and model of your motherboard so we can look up the manual for it or take a full picture of the entire thing.

I think

Yup, found the motherboard - z490 Gaming Carbon from MSI, right? Yeah you definitely don't have your FP headers plugged in. They're the connector in the bottom right corner. Also, depending on what CPU you have in there, you may want to plug in the additional 4-pin EPS (CPU) cable as well. The header you want to plug them into is "JFP1". Place your chassis' "Power Switch" cable into the top RIGHT TWO pins of "JFP1". Place your chassis' "Reset Switch" into the pins directly below it.

1) Are the cables for the GPU connected at BOTH ends?
2) Is it fully seated in the topmost PCIe slot with the latch engaged?
3) Is the cable going from the GPU to the monitor AND fully inserted on both ends? Are you on the right input for your monitor?
4)Is your monitor plugged in and on?
If you can answer yes to ALL of the above, remove the cable from your GPU. You then have two potential options:
a) Plug the cable into the DisplayPort or HDMI port on your motherboard, depending on which cable you used. If you get a signal, then it means either one of the ports on your GPU is dead, or the card outright is dead. Test the other ports if so. If there is still no output, it means that the cable may be faulty, in this case grab a known good HDMI/Displayport cable(such as the one used by a TV, for example) and replace the cable on the TV with the one you're testing. If the cable works fine on the TV, that means we know the cable is fine, and that something is wrong with the GPU specifically.
b)If your CPU does not have integrated graphics (for example, a 10900kf would not - the "f" in the name denotes a lack of integrated graphics), then there's unfortunately not a whole lot you can do other than having both a monitor + cable that is known to be 100% working and testing it on that. An entire second computer also works, but that is far more of a luxury or rarer circumstance that most people don't have.

The fact that it does POST is a good thing. Just have to figure out and narrow down exactly where and why the lack of video is coming from.

Shit it was the display port/cord, it wasn't working but an hdmi did! Again, thanks so much.... I'm still not done though ;-;

The bios shows up and everything, but after exiting it, my os (window 10) doesn't boot. I'm not sure where to go from here since all I can find online about this is people who have this ptob after a bios update.

I GOT IT

okay so the bios wasn't going to windows because of a SINGLE SETTING that was just making it so my OS wasn't listed as an option for some reason. I finally got through everything and aside from a USB port not working and my RAM being in "unoptimized" positions, we're in business!

so everyone who helped me here you can PM me me your email or something and i can paypal you like 10 bucks because i would have spent way more getting a guy to come out here and say "UH ACTUALLY HERE'S WHERE YOU FUCKED UP".
