I hate them so much. Just use what you been playing all night, don't make it easy for them. I am sure there is some stat person saying oh it works great and I just have confirmation bias, but damn I hate it so much.

Only thing it prevents is you from winning

Its great if theres literally not enough time for the opponent to score dinking and dunking, otherwise good qbs can chew through that defense

I kind of wonder how effective prevent defense even is at winning games as opposed to just using a regular scheme.

I won't go out of my way to try and look it up tho lol

It does work sometimes, but the failures often stand out more because people look at it and say 'they should have just played normally.'

Very much some confirmation bias going on.

That said, I think it works worse in college where defenses are often just not very good.

Depends on the situation but if you're down 14 with 8 minutes left in the game, run run run punt then prevent for the rest of the game is infuriating.
