They don't go into a lot of detail, but they say he knew the victim. But cops generally don't arrest someone without at least some evidence even if it's just multiple witnesses pointing the finger.

If its anything like the UK, sometimes the police arrest somebody for their own protection. I only ever did it once but it does happen.

Oh yeah, I don't think they do that here. You're pretty much on your own to get a restraining order, hire security, etc. But if you do get a restraining order and they violate it, you can try to have them arrested if you have proof.

I've seen cases where the person beaten actually didn't do anything or what at least what was accused. Need to leave this to play out in court

Then the Detroit PD isnt fit for purpose. It is not the job of law enforcement to decide who to apply the law to. It should apply to everybody equally if it is to be legitimate.

This is true, but it could also be that they witnessed it happening. If they saw it happen and he is still accused, that doesnt mean they didnt see him do it

As for the mob justice thing, I already said that they should have been arrested.

Also, telling me to become a Detroit cop and arrest my coworkers is actually more insane than trying to call the FBI.

Imagine a brand new rookie cop trying to single handedly arrest the entire department. I'd be shot immediately, then the press would be told a rogue cop went insane
