Its probably my least favorite of the 3 Blades, but it also has the best string of cutscenes in any Xeno game and that includes Gears and Saga Im very surprised you just got it. Usually I wait a while before playing a JRPG. I kinda like when a JRPG is figured out, and there is readily available information. I bought Xenoblade X on launch day and while I eventually loved it, that first month was very rough, and I was scrambling to get anything meaningful done. --- GTag/PSN: MechaknightX [] Switch ID: SirMecha [][] 'Cloud, this isn't a normal reactor! 3 was figured out pretty quickly. Enel had pretty detailed guides to the combat mechanics out within the first week or two and full-fledged characters guides within 2 months. The meta has evolved since then as people have found new ways to min/max, but that's not remotely necessary to play through the game, so it doesn't change a whole lot. Far more so than X or 2, 3 also has decent tutorials and you can view them at will, so the game isn't anywhere close to as obtuse as either of them were. The tutorials don't cover absolutely everything, but they're more or less enough to get you through the game without major issues. --- This is my signature. Hell everyone's main problem was being overlevelled trivializing the game because they did most of the sidequests. It's a good game, but the weakest Xenoblade game in the entire series in my opinion, including X. It's actually pretty similar to X in strengths (combat, exploration) and weaknesses (plot, villains, uneven music quality). XC3 has a LOT of dialogue. Probably more scenes and talking than any game in the series, and possibly the least to actually say. And they somehow found a way to make the tutorials even more numerous and obnoxious than in XC2. agesboy posted... Hell everyone's main problem was being overlevelled trivializing the game because they did most of the sidequests. For once my habit of pushing most optional content to the postgame paid off! The problem with being overleveled is that you stop getting "experience" towards unlocking classes if the enemies are more than 4 levels below you, and while you can use nopon coins to advance class rank, there's nothing (pre-DLC, at least...maybe it added something) to help you unlock new classes other than in battle w/ similar/higher leveled enemies. Also, enemies will aggro you if you're less than like 8 levels above them. I called it the "suck zone", where you're too high level to advance classes but not high level enough to avoid every damn thing trying to pick a fight with you. Which then leads to tons of running away, lest you get even more overleveled fighting everything. Despite my best efforts, I spent most of my playthrough in the suck zone. It damped my enjoyment a lot. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I'm about five hours in and really enjoying myself. Made it to chapter 2 My only complaints so far are - No marker for enemy detection type. Unless I've fought a enemy before I won't know how it aggros unless I cross it. - The targeting arrow is pretty small, and for me, gets lost in the fight. The arrow tends to get lost with non-aggroed/ far away enemies during, and targeting being automatic outside of combat is annoying. I think the targeting system sucks so far, seems very inconsistent - This isn't much of a complaint, but might only be tied to Noah's Swordmaster class and/ or time based cooldowns; Upon switching to Eunie and Mio, the game immediately got more fun since it was more involved --- GTag/PSN: MechaknightX [] Switch ID: SirMecha [][] 'Cloud, this isn't a normal reactor! MechaKirby posted... I think the targeting system sucks so far, seems very inconsistent There's an option in the menu to change it to that R automatically picks the enemy closest to you, while L cycles normally. I found that helped to make it more consistent. Zephyr tends to be one of the more enjoyable early-game classes because of its short cooldowns, but others will catch up as you unlock more slots and ways to speed up recharge. --- This is my signature.
