Fishing. I just leveled mine to 80 and it was extremely quick. I got to lvl 60 in 10 minutes. It's a little slower after 60 but it's still pretty quick and easy. Also have you started your island yet?

Got white mage to 50, astrogian is next to 50 currently at 41. Dungeons queues for healers are great. Can't wait to do this with dps lol.

Do parties still want White Mage to attack and heal? One of the big reasons I quit was because I enjoyed maining White Mage, but I hated balancing healing and offense, especially when your damage output as a White Mage sucks. I especially disliked it because I got a solid run of randoms that would feed themselves to AOE and require constant healing, but yet still wanted continuous damage like I was a DPS.

Competent players will expect you to do deeps, randos are a mixed bag though, you may get the people who don't DPS themselves or don't want you to do DPS because they think that's not your job

Yes, people are going to expect you to dps as a white mage unless you're playing with people who aren't good. It's especially important in Savage and Ultimate that healers deal damage because it's noticeable when they don't.

I just resubbed. I stopped about halfway through Stormblood on a WHM. In fact, my very next quest is Bardam's Mettle.

This is the first time I'm resubbing without feeling the need to start a new character which I have done like 4 or 5 times. Never once beat the story, but always felt the need for a new character.

When you beat Endwalker you unlock an island you can build up and do stuff on, idk I haven't done much with it

I seriously thought about buying a skip the last time. I don't know why I can't just pick up and start where I left off. Well, besides starting again tonight anyways.

Last time I tried to see how quick I could get ARR done and managed to get 2.0 to up to 3.0 done in like 38 hours.

I'm not far in it, but so far it's just been collecting materials from around the island to build a house and farm and whatever. And you can let your minions roam around free, which is kinda cute. Kinda feels like Animal Crossing, but without neighbors.

Been meaning to go back, but it wasn't super engaging imo.

i went hard in ffxiv twice

two separate occasions (one being the first time i ever played it a few years ago), i started and went hard for like two months straight. then each time, i torched myself out and cancelled because i just got sick of it.

I assume it's better to level Scholar than Summoner for faster queues?

Scholar seems complicated af, do i really have to add the pet commands to the hotbar?

The fairy is a pretty important part of the kit for Scholar. It probably doesn't matter if you're just doing dungeons and can keep your party alive without struggling. If you're doing EX or Savage then you're gonna need it, yeah.

That said, none of the classes are really that complicated to just get to use. If you really wanna be good at the class is when they get a little harder because you need to align your rotation to account for downtime, raidwides, and such.

The best tip I can give you is to always roll your gcds. It's always better to do something than nothing. You should be mainly healing with ogcds if you have them. Healing with gcds is pretty much your last resort.

People move their fairies to the middle of the arena for a bit of optimization, at most, you don't need the other pet commands like Sic and Stay. You definitely need the fairy skills though

Healing is easy until it isn't for me (first boss of Aurum Vale for example)

The community is great if you're casual but if you wanna be a savage or ultimate raider it's pretty trash tbh. People don't take criticism well if they're fucking up, people will join prog parties for portions of fights they've never seen and hold a whole group hostage, if there's an obvious skill gap with people you play with it causes issues, etc.

that's why you make friends before doing all that stuff i guess. i hate doing high level content in duty finder, i just feel bad because i'm not that good at the game.

Even with some friends there will be issues unless you're all 100% on the same page. Finding 7 other people to raid with on a set schedule is difficult and causes drama. My first FC fell apart because of it and I left my last static for the current tier because of that reason too.

yeah i don't know, hopefully i find some non toxic people to enjoy the game. I wonder if there any chill NEET FCs where time and skill is no issue.
