Regarding the talk about Lapis I promoted her to Swordmaster for my playthrough and while she's decent enough at dodging I feel like she really gets carried by crit and Armorslayer's for the armored units. I do have the sword with the S requirement on her which is nice, but I feel like it might have been better on Diamant who I'm also using.

Oh and either I missed a tutorial or I'm dumb but I just realized that getting the earlier version of an inherited skill like say Avoid +10(500 SP) lowers the cost of the other tiers of that same skill by the same amount of SP. I had been saving my SP for some of the higher tiered one's for no reason :/

Nothing in any tutorial about that, I only figured it out because 10 dodge through the main game was gonna help more than saving for 15 or 20 who knows how much later. And I was right for a few reasons. <.<

I went GK, the mobility is really nice and having weapon triangle control helps mitigate the fact he can be broken since you can choose the appropriate weapon for enemy clusters.

General being 4 move when everyone starts to get 5 or 6 hurts. Because a front line unit that's always trailing the front lines kinda ultimately reduces the movement of the whole team.

I'd say that unless you really need Mystical units or more staff support, Mage Knight is the better of the classes. Chaos style is a great ability. And its got better mobility.

Maybe that's worth a General reclass later down the line, but for that first Louis promotion, you have to consider what tools you have available.

Currently doing skirmishes like a maniac to slowly get Jean up from level 1 with Tiki lmao. Only ever gets exp from that skill one time per battle plus whatever he gets from duels afterwards. I at least gave him the exp boosting skills from Byleth and Edelgard. They stack as in, 40% boost.

Seen nothing but 4 or more stat boost levels so far.

I love movement based skills. But like swap is still taking some movement from other units. It's better than nothing but doesn't fundamentally solve the issue. Now if Generals had Pivot like in SoV, that would be meaningful.

But ultimately 2 move vs Unbreakable, I'm choosing 2 move everytime. Especially when having weapon triangle control makes it hard to be broken as is.

So turns out, if your growth for a stat exceeds 100 it means you can get 2 in that stat when you level up. Also, despite being level 5 Jean could hit promoted level 20 enemies in Tiki form AND actually deal a few damage. He's up to 11 now. Hehe.

If you're on normal you can always dancer and byleth goddess dance and warp a unit over then rewind. I don't know what the equation is for this game but in one of the other ones it was straight up like like, ignores half their defense and adds 7 on top of that.

Gotta hover over them. Generally the only ones that might have issues are ones that only engage when you initiate combat, like the sacred stones emblem. Or how most of the stat boost and other skills from an emblem won't stack when you have that emblem equipped.

Okay Dire Thunder is pretty nuts. It just deletes things with complete safety from three squares away. My Citrinne also has canter so she basically is never attacking from a position of anything but safety.

Considering that skirmishes scale to Alear's level, it might actually be better to have Alear slightly underleveled compared to the rest of your squad to make grinding (if you need to) a bit easier. But of course, not too underleveled to the point where keeping Alear alive and avoiding a game over becomes a chore.

I think the issue Im having is my OP units like Ivy and Merrin are just taking over the battlefields lol. Probably need to throw Alear into the mix more.
