Goddamn the Timerra map, chapter 13, is giving me trouble. Some of my units are getting one shot. The previous map was fine. Wtf

Was thinking of keeping Yunaka as a thief, Chloe as a Wyvern Knight and Lapis a Swordmaster. Thought?

The s rank weapons take a metric fuckton of silver shards to get to rank 4. -_-

Just beat chapter 22. That was the stupidest, corniest title drop I've ever heard, but god damn it, I smiled.

I kept Yunaka a Thief too, but she's also great as a Wolf Knight if you get her another proficiency. Chloe has too good of a magic growth (it's actually higher than her strength growth) to let it go to waste as a Wyvern Knight, so I would have gone with Griffon Knight or Mage Knight if I didn't bench her in my playthrough. Swordmasters (and any units locked to only swords) suck hard, so change Lapis to literally anything else.

Yunaka as thief is how you get to use the Corrin fog strat that makes most of the game a joke.

Also mine just needs to cap her build to have all stats at cap. <3

Yunaka is a really cool unit, I wish there were an assassin class this game though. Maybe in a DLC

Strange question, you know that Nelucce asshole from around the early chapters? Is he voiced by Xander Mobus? He sounds almost exactly like a certain asshole from a game I played a while back.

Thief is functionally the same.

Also, ding just maxed her build. I am fairly certain that when other stats are at their cap, ones you haven't maxed yet get rerolled or something because there's no way she should have got 3 build level ups in a row even with a 20% chance as a result of Tiki's skill.

Now to begin grinding to give her the BIS skills of Lunar Brace+ and the Edelgard Str/ Dex+ max level one. Mwuahaha.

Cuz they got Smash weapons and I think a some dudes get silver shit.

And one of the bosses has a fucking brave axe so almost anyone gets vaporized if he so much as looks at them without decent AVO.

Question I know the skirmishes keep scaling as you play? Is there ever a time when it stop scaling Like when getting closer to the end? I was wondering because I would like to try to get all supports before finishing the game since there isnt NG+ So, I just want to be prepared

They never get stronger than promoted level 20. And their stats don't rise beyond that so if you're like me and stat maxing, you'll end up hilariously one rounding most or all of them with ease.

I defeated the bosses by creating a bottleneck where they could only attack Alear standing in a bush or range attack Yunaka standing in a bush while she killed off the ones that didn't have 1-2 range. The brave axe dude never got to attack anything and the tomahawk dude missed everything.

Yeah like Iron smash weapons are strong but not too crazy. Steel and especially Silver are consideredably stronger.

I was lazy one map and mindlessly throwing Louis into a group of people and suddenly saw him take 15 damage and it shocked me. Dude had a Silver Great Axe.

Thanks! Ill consider retraining Chloe as a mage. Lapis looks good as a hero so Im keeping her as that. Is there a good class guide somewhere?

Silver Great Axe has 32 might! Without even being forged. There are dudes in this game running around with weapons stronger than Genealogy holy weapons, it's wild

Keep in mind that the second seal resets you to level 1, so you'd have to climb back up to 10 again if you use it while unpromoted. Aside from Jean who literally starts at level 1, it's much easier to promote first and then reclass to the desired promoted class rather than the other way around.

Timerra paired with Ike is one of the strongest lance users. Fogado has low str but with a Radiant Bow, he can be serviceable.

What do you mean? I can turn into a mage now but Mage Knight requires mage level 10. I know Ill have to climb back up to level 10 which doesnt seem too bad. The only downside to all this is Chloes outfit changing

I believe the reason it's easier to promoted first is because promoted classes are stronger. So, you won't have to grow a weak unit to 10 again... And once you are promoted, you just need a second seal to swap over to other promoted classes, IIRC... I think you need proficiencies, but you can get those from emblems...

No you don't. If you promote from Lance Flier to Griffon Knight, you can class change directly into Mage Knight if you get Chloe proficiency in magic from either the Celica or Micaiah rings. In fact, if you have the correct proficiency before promoting, I'm pretty sure you can promote from Lance Flier directly to Mage Knight without even needing the second seal. I think I remember promoting Alcryst from his unique lord class directly to Wolf Knight, which isn't connected at all, without even using a second deal. Plus, promoted classes have slightly better growths than unpromoted classes, so you want to promote as soon as possible.

Chloe, Yunaka and Lapis

Chloe
Griffin knight or mage knight
Her magic growth is higher than her attack as these and so you'll either wanna give them stuff to increase her build so she can use a magic lance or magic sword, or use engravings to make sure her killer lances and spears are light enough that she can use them. A great emblem is Leif because she won't get broken and her evasion lets her safely survive a bow encounter or two. If she can't have weapon advantage because the opponent is at 2 range Leif makes her swap to a 2 range weapon so you'll counter as well. Plus with her crit rate you get some nice bonuses to his weapon variety.

Yunaka
Thief with Corrin emblem is her best option. She can create fog around her which gives her +30 evade. And her unique skill adds crit +15 while under a terrain effect. And knives have great crit rates and deal damage with continuous attacks and that stacks when she doubles, even on enemies with huge defense stats. And it also stays in effect on bosses with multiple hp bars. Speaking of which, dragonic hex helps melt enemy stats when they do survive. And that also means her crit rate goes up. Engravings should be ones like the last one you'll get access to in the game or Corrin for extra crit and a little extra power on the weapon. Ranks 1-4 of upgrades on knives give +2 weapon might so functionally that's +4 damage each time you double at minimum. Also if you give her lunar brace as an inherited skill from Eirika you basically get free damage even on heavy knights per attack.

Lapis
Hero or wolf knight with swords imo. Her growths favor crit classes with good attack and hero has lower crit but better overall bulk and damage. Best emblems are ones like Byleth (12 luck makes it so you're basically never getting crit by non killer weapons even without dodge investment) and Eirika. Ike gets an honorable mention but he's better on units like Alfred if he didn't get Sigurd already. Basically, either use her for defending and support like Byleth (she's great with all his weapons, especially fists) or if you want her to be a frontline unit you'll want to boost her damage potential while having access to some self healing through Ephraim via Eirika.

Once you use a master seal you never have to use another one on that character. It's all second seals from then on out.

Louis tanking becomes a less viable strategy towards the end I've noticed. Enemies actually start doing damage on him and a lot more mages start popping up. Twice I had a perfect enemy phase ruined because I placed him the path of a mage by accident.

Corrin skill to make him immune to assist attacks helps but yeah, mages will always kill him. His cap is like 14 res as a general? It's not good even if you gave him an emblem to boost it any.

I'm glad Hero is a viable option. I like the look of Lapis as a hero but turned the game off in case I made a bad decision.

Thanks! I'll be playing more tonight and will promote them to these classes. I've been neglecting leveling up and buying more weapons / armor but going to be more focused on that. I also just realized the Arena is super helpful is learning proficiencies.

If she has magic proficiency (and she's already a Lance Flier so she has lances too) then she should be able to promote right to Mage Knight by using a master seal if she's at least level 10. If she can't and I'm just misremembering, promote to Griffon Knight and then reclass her with a second seal after promoting.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just turned her into a Wyvern Knight to use the master seal and I was able to turn her into a Mage Knight straight after. It's weird how it works like that. I wish she could have kept her Lance Flier outfit but I think I prefer her look as a Mage Knight over a Griffin Knight.

With Chloe, her crit rate growth with griffon knight is enough to offset the lower attack. Her base attack is higher by enough that outside of Maddening you won't notice.

Lapis is so cute but her default outfit is her best imo. ;-;

If you want to stay griffin for flight and staff access, going sword griffin and using the Levin Sword is good. You get one for free reasonably early on IIRC and can buy another before the Flame Lance is available, and the Levin Sword is just flat out better with significantly less weight, more might and either the same or a bit more hit.

Oh god is Chapter 25 another infinite reinforcements chapter? There's just so many. I wanna push on to the boss but if I do, my entire rear will be open and the straggling units will die. And I am SO not starting over. I've been at this map for 2 hours.
