I saw that other topic where gunpla was basically saying 'hey, mass report him based on his old posts' but gunpla isn't exactly the most reliable narrator.

The line for them gets extended for whatever reason, whereas for Duncan he loses an account because a problematic user decides he should be suspended.

My issue is more or less the fact that gunpla just had a random call to action and in an hour there was a suspension based on absolutely nothing that we can see.

That either means a few users reporting an account for something can immediately result in an suspension for past events, or a moderator decided to use past events to ban someone.

That doesn't sit right with me, considering the last thing I was modded for had to do with someone claiming I did something that I never did.

He'd have my sympathy if he didn't have several banned accounts already on record. He's clearly not wanted here, and I don't think the slate gets wiped clean just cause he essentially sneaks in while wearing a mustache.

As someone who has marked some heinous nonsense: unless a moderator sees something in the wild getting things gone can take time. Odds are gunpla marked and got tired of waiting so she asked others to do the same. Even then I have severe doubts anyone else actually did as, as you said, nothing was visibly moddable so odds are it was a PM getting marked that did him in.

The issue with duncan is that he ran out of outs. He might not deserve every new account banning, but he was given plenty of chances on his main before finally getting banned. He should have learned from that. Granted, there were people provoking him and trying to get him to double down on stuff they new he had been in trouble for previously, so bad on them for doing that, but bad on him as well, since he kept taking the bait. "Ukraine should just let Russia take over because I am scared of nukes" is suspension-worthy take and he went hard with it several times. He has shown that he can learn from mistakes too, so that excuse doesn't work. He initially had a "Covid lockdowns and mandates are unfair because I want to go to Subway and I can't" attitude during the early days of the pandemic, but later made a topic expressing regret for that take, having realized it was selfish.

He's not a bad person and yes he does have issues, but when he refuses to listen to reason when it comes to his bad takes, what can really be done? I've also heard that he hangs around in off site communities that are known for attracting people with worse takes than his, so I'm hoping he hasn't been indoctrinated by those types. What he should do imo is separate from those communities, stay off this board for longer than the mandatory month, evaluate why he's in this position and return only when he is ready and prepared to behave himself. Some would say that he just shouldn't come back at all, but I don't think that is realistic.

Can we trade rebel coming back for Duncan not coming back?

I've noticed that's how it works sometimes. Tails can have an account and everyone knows he has an account, he has been banned for who knows how long, he'll post with no issues and then suddenly banned. It's weird. Like, why allow users who have clearly been banned back if you're just going to hit them at any moment for something seemingly random?

Idk, I don't get it.

That being said, I believe it was mentioned in another topic that gunpla blocked Duncan, and you can't get PMs from someone you blocked.

Just seems like an odd situation to myself all around.
