Don't mistake what I said for any attempt to minimise the evil and harm she is doing. Just because she thinks she is doing something good, doesn't mean she is.

She is doing harm to others, when she claims to want to prevent harm from others.

Due to her, more trans people will be harmed and victimised in the way she claims to want to protect women from.

But yes. She is actively pushing to strip a minority of their rights and coddling up with terrible people who want to strip more than just trans people of basic human rights. Her efforts to support these people and groups will see Britons stripped of basic rights we've enjoyed for decades and regress us back to a religious theocracy - despite the overwhelming support for these rights. Rights that she even supports.

Her hate for trans people is so great she seems clearly willing to strip the very people she wants to protect of their basic rights.

I try to stop myself before using dehumanizing terms. What's she's doing is certainly monstrous, but it's also very human. Using one's own history of abuse to justify the abuse of others is one of the most tragically human things ever.

In a better world, she'd be getting help to better deal with her trauma. As it stands, she has money and people who will latch on to her for use of that money, tell her she's doing the right thing, and apparently no one in her life that she trusts to tell her of the harm she's doing.

And the fact that she rose to prominence as the author of a beloved children's series that has been formative for so many people who are now adults just complicates the matter even more, makes her very unique among "monstrous" cohorts.

That is the sad thing about humans. We can all use our humanity to be evil, monstrous or inflict harm upon others. I waver on whether calling individuals/groups in history evil/monsters as often they very much are, but it can be easy to disassociate them from the rest of humanity when time and time again we've shown how easy it is for people to be so utterly terrible.

Ultimately, I think we should call evil/monsters out for what they are, as long as we remember they are still people. I do think I would normally avoid such charged language, but not like anyone on CE is going to change their minds at this point so didn't feel it really mattered that much.

You are right about her using trauma in a terrible way. It's absolute awful what happened to her, and I do wish she had dealt with it better - or rather, not had terrible people take advantage to twist her into what she has now become as I think without it she could very well be a prominent supporter of trans people. They are victims just like her, and no one should have to ever suffer that from the evil parts of society.

Uhh that seems kinda disingenuous and cheapens the very serious thing. Going by that chart, you can classify a lot of other things as a "beginning stages of a genocide".
