Because organ donors are you know dead? Where as this would be (regardless of consent) using the body of someone who is no longer living in the traditional sense to be a baby factory.

Like Child birth and Pregnancy is already a rather complicated thing already just imagine how more complex that has to be when the person is brain dead.

Not even close to it because that donor is going to be kept alive or operated on in a quick manner to get the organs where as the brain dead person will need to be kept in life support for the duration of a pregnancy on top of making sure the fetus is kept alive and healthy. Fuck it would in execution be cheaper to go through a surrogate not braindead then what it would most likely cost to keep a person on life support

I mean, traditional surrogacy has bred a culture of abuse, taking advantage of the poor and disadvantaged, putting them through 9 months of terrible health, and then ripping their children out of their hands. Even ethical surrogacy through a friend or a family member is costly to the surrogate, physically and (especially) emotionally.

I still haven't heard any cogent argument for why this is morally any different than organ donation.

I somehow can't equate someone giving permission to use organs that they will no longer be using because they're dead to keeping a body functioning for months to birth a baby that the "donor" was unaware of.

Giving permission to take my perfectly functional kidneys in my lifeless body is not the same thing as farming children using my body that isn't dying yet. This is shitty like that proposition to coerce prisoners to give up their organs for a few months off a sentence.

I mean, the proposed donors are quite literally dead in every meaningful way, and have provided consent prior. Way more ethical than coercing prisonors, in your example, or in mine the many many cases where surrogacy is coerced via payment.

I mean assuming this statement from Wikipedia is accurate, then I don't see any ethical issues with it... It kinda falls into the same kinda pool as necrophilia, where there's nothing inherently wrong with it, because in both cases the people are effectively inanimate objects at that point.
