Sony had this ridiculous start, $599 and just lagging behind everyone for the first three years 360 had RROD and lost the plot from like 2010 by focusing hard on Kinect Wii had crazy momentum but then failed to capitalize on it. They totally turned it down consumer wise though. (which I think is what you meant anyway) I remember getting the 60GB when it went down to $500.
