Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy XIII. VII is the better game, but I honestly like Sazh in XIII more than Barrett, although he's still a great character.

He's literally part of the main party of the game. Also, in the remake you can switch and play as him.

That's extremely difficult to pull off though. Like, you have to make sure that two characters have the exact number of lines of dialogue, the same significance to the plot, and the same emotional connection to the audience.

You could argue that Cloud wouldn't have done anything in Final Fantasy VII if Barret had not recruited him in the first place. He would have just been wandering around looking for jobs. It was Barrett's fight against Shinra that got Cloud involved and the greater story unfolded because of that. Barret is very much as much a main character as Cloud. He was there from start to finish.

The story is about cloud. It revolves around cloud.

Maybe watch dogs 2 or san andreas.

That's poor logic because Garnet would have still attempted to flee the castle as that was her plan all along to get to Cid, and Zidane and his crew were still attempting to kidnap her. The overall story wouldn't have changed one bit if Puck wasn't there.

Tifa wouldn't have hired anyone as she was in Avalanche because of Barret also. It was Barrett's group that was fighting against Shinra. Tifa would just be a bartender and nothing more.

I think there's some confusion between main character and main protagonist. Deuterogamists and tritagonists are still main characters.

Your entire argument is "Actually this secondary character is the main character because he is involved in the plot in some capacity. But only him because any other secondary characters who effects the plot I can just pretend didn't effect the plot."

That's just dumb

Why would Tifa and Avalanche suddenly be pro-Shinra if Barrett wasn't around?

Barrett didn't even make the bombs or set up the plan to blow up the reactors. That was Jessie... Barrett didn't create or run the hideout... That was Tifa. Barrett didn't even want Cloud on the missions, that was Tifa.

Puck is 50 times as butterfly effect pivotal to the plot of FFIX as Barrett is to FF7

Even more so in the remake when Avalanche is revealed to be a minor spliter terrorist group that kicked Barrett out for being a wimp.

Take the L dude, the hole you're digging here is increasingly ridiclous

Lol telling me to take the L when you don't even understand your own topic. You said favorite black main character not protagonist there's a difference. Barret is a main character in Final Fantasy VII. Cloud is the protagonist of the story, but he's not the ONLY main character. The game isn't played with just Cloud you have an entire party of main characters. You should have asked who your favorite black protagonist was if you wanted a game where you play from start to finish as that character like CJ in San Andreas.
