The first game of the 2023 season is officially underway between the Vegas Vipers and the Arlington Renegades, and my hometown St. Louis Battlehawks are playing tomorrow. There was Vince's original in 2001 that just tried to be WWE but football and then folded after one season, the 2020 reboot that tried to be more like real football (but with a few unique rule changes and broadcast stuff) that was actually doing pretty well before it got shut down by the pandemic, and now this 2023 re-reboot after Vince was ready to give up on it but The Rock and his group bought it and saved it. Considering the anger towards the Rams and Kroenke has probably gone down a bit over time (plus a good chunk of former Rams fans became Chiefs fans and have enjoyed their success) I don't know if that same level of hype will be there this time. The Houston Roughnecks beat the Orlando Guardians 33-12. More importantly... football returns to St. Louis today!
