That doesnt get talked about sometimes, and thats fair because someone being homeless but they want a home, thats no good gotta fix that

but some do it especially in the LA region because they just dont want to deal with all the pay and hassle of maintaining a home

and sometimes I think theyre kind of smart for that

Years ago, I overheard a lady on the bus I was riding talking about how she spoke with a homeless guy who said he loved being homeless. As long as he could get food and somewhere to wash himself, he was completely fine with his situation.

Of course, this is Detroit, so I have no idea what this guy does (or did, if he's not alive anymore) during the harsh winters we tend to have.

I can kinda see it.

The focus becomes just basic survival, which technically non-homeless people are after, but a homeless person doesn't get consumed with all the bullshit that comes with keeping up in the economic classes above them.

Separated from taxes, loans, stress of work, even just things like not being glued to a screen etc,etc
I mean of course there are insanely serious drawbacks.
But I can see to some people that might be the lesser of two evils.

The solution definitely isn't as simple as "give everyone houses." Whether just weird free spirits or people who are too mentally unwell to deal with society, those who make up the visible, persistent homeless population probably need more specialized help than simple shelters can provide.

in the city i live in they're trying to find a place where they can have a permanent homeless encampment. they got a temporary one but it's prone to flooding during the winter/spring.

Yeah, and some girls like being raped. But like the people that like living on the street, they are a small minority.

Im not gonna touch on the first thing but yes I think they surely are the minority when it comes to homeless/nomadic peoples

a basic dwelling where a person can survive is hardly everything

and honestly if you think someone doesnt contribute to society if they arent earning money, then you just suck as a person in my book
