I'm going to break a bit and vote for Aigis Solos (kinda).

Agree that Team Mario Villains takes it. I just feel the terrain is really bad in that it doesn't inhibit them at all and reduces Aigis' mobility a lot. If this took place on neutral nondescript terrain I'd take her to possibly clutch something out, but not whle inhibited like this.

i would respect lumi more in the dual tech in almost all scenarios (don't really care about the m.atk math, it's clearly crono's ultimate skill), but it doesn't matter here

I just don't think there's a significant difference between Dual Tech X-Smites so if I said Mewtwo survived last time he survives this time. And if Mewtwo survives Aigis is doomed.

Can Aigis take just DK and Bowser in the dorms is a more fun question, but I think the answer is probably not. Aigis has her machine guns but DK has his coconut guns and grenades and him and Bowser can pull a RAMPAGE (the game) on the building the longer it goes. Retreating to the rooftop doesn't help because Bowser has his copter, and again, both have ranged options. I am not a person with a lot of Bowser respect but I think now that his arch nemesis is off the field he's going to be a lot more valuable, and if Aigis goes to the roof as leader-argued, that's where the fastball special DK can pull with Bowser absolutely murders her.

Honestly I think that would be my favorite way for it to go down.

I agree Aigis has more sustain and will do a lot of damage to DK, but he really only has to get ahold of her once, and he has backup. Also I do think she's going to struggle to do much damage to Bower, he's very well armored, and DK can actually use him as mobile cover. Even if Bowser is slow, DK and Aigis can run circles around him.

So even if Mewtwo dies, (which I still don't think he does!) my vote goes to Big Monke and Big Tortle.

If Aigis didn't one shot mewtwo last time with an ultimate attack being thrown in there, it's not happening this time either. When team aigis had a close battle in a 3v3 do you think that a 1v3 even with home terrain will be close? And there's a good counter for any sort of hide and seek strategy, we call it Rampage, which involves just damaging the building until it falls.

In my brain, and as someone who hasn't really played since Pearl, I have this notion in my head that Barrier & Light Screen can't be used together? Like, one cancels the other if they are used after?

Just some tangential clarification required. I'm seeing the Luminaire tech potentially doing less than the Frenzy tech because Light Screen could defend against both of the first whilst the second dual would target both Def & Sp.Def and Mewtwo could only mitigate one of them. But that's also assuming Mewtwo has any recourse against a start of battle surprise round, ESPECIALLY since it would be negating defensive moves to use Psychic on Aigis at the same time.

I was for Aigis in the beginning: knowing layout, knowing location of one of two opponents at all times, have range and healing and buffs and firepower... all excellent excellent strategies. But a giant DK and a badass Bowser just remaking Wrecking Crew.... what's the first thing DK ever does besides kidnapping Pauline?

Just massive structural damage. Yeah, DK/Bowser are tearing through the place searching for Aigis, and may just bring the whole place down around them if they get frustrated by her kites.

I can still be swayed towards Aigis, but huge lean right now to team House Party.

I think you meant to say Reflect rather than Barrier, but all three of them can be used together (and they added a move that's Reflect and Light Screen together in Sun and Moon, but it can only be used in Hail and Mewtwo doesn't get it.)
