Roid rage was basically just an assumption by the media, but the entire event was over the course of three days, which was deemed as too meticulous for something like that.

Theres another theory on facebook that some fourth guy kicked the door open when Chris was on the phone with someone and killed everyone. Afterwards he drank all of the beer in the house and left leaving the pool of beer cans behind.

This sounds like a direct ripoff of the King of the Hill gorn fanfiction Arlen Nights that me and Frog used to spam on M:R/the Adult Swim board.

I know New Jack wasn't the best judge of character, but he wasn't wrong when he said in a shoot "I don't give a FUCK about CTE!"

He was friends with Nancy, and that's the angriest I have ever seen him.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

His autopsy revealed that he had the brain of a 70-year-old Alzheimer's patient.

I'm not saying that he's innocent, but I don't think any of us can truly know for sure. He was abusive toward Nancy Benoit years before he killed her, but he was also subjecting himself to head trauma before he ever met her. And, yes, there is a documented correlation between brain damage and physical abuse. Had he stood trial, he might be in prison for life or he might be institutionalized.

I don't like to revisit his matches and I don't like to look at him. But without professionals able to measure what role if any was played by mental deterioration, I don't think we'll ever truly know if Benoit was in control of his actions.

Paul Heyman is no authority at all.

He knows the ECW style of wrestling has shortened carriers, if not lives, with people smacking each other in the heads with frying pans and putting one another through pane glass windows. Of course he would say that brain damage is a non-factor. It's like asking the head of the world's largest cigarette chain if smoking has any long-term negative effects.

I certainly won't defend what he did, but at the same time from personal experience I understand the difference in personality/mood that happens when your brain is all messed up.

When I didn't have my cpap machine letting me get 7 full hours of sleep, I was only getting 1/2 hour of actual sleep. I was always pissed off, snapping at people and my personality would constantly shift. Now that I get close to 7 hours of sleep things are a lot more consistent. I would imagine someone who had severe damage to the brain would have sudden bursts of a flipped personality, but at the same time I can't imagine that there wouldn't have been hints prior to what happened.

I can't remember who it was, maybe New Jack himself, but they brought up how ECW had only one person die during their entire run (Louie Spicolli) when WWE had double-digit numbers.

The rest of the deaths were either from independent health issues or drug overdoses. Which I wouldn't fault Paul on since those overdoses were from people who had substance abuse issues already.

I dont think Kevin Sullivan did it but Im pretty sure if you were going to make that argument it would be more sensible to point to the fact that he stole sullivans wife.

Its not true either way though its just cope from people who cant believe an unstable guy snapped

He's not saying it isn't a factor. The decisions he made aren't just limited to that night.

I think Heyman is right. The actions of Benoit, regardless of how messed up he was, is just unthinkable. Fuck what occurred that that night.

If its true the guy had the brain of a 70 year old Alzheimers victim then it does makes me feel sorry for whatever shit he must have been going through but that doesnt bring back his wife and kids.

Anyone that has experience with people with mental health issues or addictions should appreciate how it can fuck someone up and they become someone different but you have to separate the actions from the person and regardless of the underlying causes the actions are still wrong. I do think its possible to feel sorry for what he was going through while also accepting his actions were abhorrent. Paul is right. His kids and wife didnt have a choice that evening. And thats what should be at the forefront.

maybe he sought help but didn't accept that he might need a long break from the sport
