Comes out at 3 AM EST.

I hope it picks up and is better than last week's.

After last week's kinda "meh" episode, this episode is what I watch Mando for. Loved the cyborg/droid creature and would have loved to know more about why and how it's there.

Yeah the cyborg dude was my favorite part. Great design and the idea of "mechanized creature that attaches to other cooler mechanisms" is always a favorite of mine.

Gotta say I didn't expect to just get here and get done in the second episode. I thought there'd be a lot more baloney of doing stuff to get to the Mines, but boom, done.

Clearly this one quest isn't the plan for the entire season.

The show likely Rian'd itself with the "apostate" subplot, so quickly gloss over it and get to anything else.

I think the sole reason for the apostate subplot was getting Mando on Mandalore along with Bo-Katan.

Bo-Katan has yet to ask and Din has yet to properly answer why the Creed is so important.

I feel (hope) that this won't be the last time this is addressed.

Yes I know they talked about it a little (our people our scattered), but I feel this discussion needs to go further.

Well that's what I'm talking about. Seems that this season will come to a head on the concept of what a Mandalorian is.

Is it tradition and rules? Is it a people on their planet? Are the Mandalorian people fated for extinction without one or the other?

Well that's fine, but your initial "why does the Creed" mean so much to him he has already been answered. He was saved as a child after he lost everything. The Creed is all he has ever known. He wouldn't even show his face to a bloody Droid to save his life.

Yeah pretty much. Call it a symptom of their insistence on putting episodes of Mando in Book of Boba Fett.

Yeah I'm sorry if I'm not making my point clearly here. I feel like Din has already taken steps away from the Creed and learned that there is a life outside of it in his travels with Grogu, which is why he feels like he can remove his helmet around Grogu at the end of Season 2.

Perhaps that's just part of his character, waffling between his dedication to the Creed and his realization of another path.

Awful gimmick aside, I'll hate on Bo Katan.

Terrible person whose sense of entitlement has led to her failing as a Mandalorian leader three separate times, caused pointless drama so far this season, and torpedoed what was shaping up to be a great arc for Sabine in the final season of Rebels.

The needs to accept that she's a great fighter, but doesn't have the chops to be the ruler of Mandalore. Seriously, how many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old lady?

i heard complaints about how episode was too dark. like on a Game of Thrones level.

personally, i had no complaints. it was a bit dark sure but i could still see the action well.

anyway, thought it was alright. at first i was asking why the fuck Grogu went all the way back to get Bo-Katan to help him save Mando instead of saving him himself but i guess the little dude wasnt powerful enough yet... lol

I felt the same. Also, even if she's in the same star system, there's no way she could get back to him in time to save him...that was kinda bullshit

I figured the cyborg thing was slowly draining Mando of his biological fluids in order to sustain its own biological parts and that there was still plenty of time left to save him.

This episode was much better. Bo-Katan was great. I thought she's gonna sulk around this season, but she came in hard and risked herself for Din.

That droid was also pretty good. For a second there, I thought it was Grievous lmao. I loved how Bo took out the spider form with the Darksaber in like 10 seconds.

I love seeing Katee Sackhoff overall.

I mean, I guess if you factor in climbing back out of the cave (repulsor chair or not), getting back in the N1, taking off, getting to orbit, hypering to Kalevala (lol that name), and then landing on Kalevala and doing the whole process in reverse, that would be on the order of several hours.

Which is why I believe the cyborg wasn't in any particular hurry to suck Din dry.

Yeah, you're right but I think that's kind of a cop out. Like, he could totally die here but luckily the thing that kills him is killing him super slowly.

But WHY, though? She's never once won it in combat, and has consistently proven to be a terrible leader, given the mandalorians have nearly completely disintegrated every single time she's tried.

And all her condescending preening about destructive extremist cults is absolutely rich coming from her, given, yknow... Death Watch.

I genuinely don't understand why Filoni and the fans keep pushing her so hard. Literally all she's ever done is grump around, pretend she's entitled to rule, and fail at actually leading people. She's less Space Hillary Clinton and more Mandalorian Starscream.

We've had two episodes of side quests with no introduction of our main quest.
Thought it was gonna be about his quest to get baptized in the holy Mandalorian Waters, but that was a side quest.
Wheres our Moff Gideon or search for Jedi Day care? What's Din's motivation this season?

What's Din's motivation this season?
It's internal rather than external motivations.Confronting the realities of his creepy cult family, figuring out what being a mandalorian actually is. Dispelling the myth about Mandalore being uninhabitable opens the door to actually starting to rebuild the mandalorians. There's plenty of motivations; they're just more understated than "here's the next caped bad guy."

... depending on your interpretation of the Armorer, anyway.
