I'm still trying to decide if Renfroe's catch yesterday was a good play or not. Yeah, the catch itself was spectacular, but it only happened because he so completely fucked up the rest of the play leading up to it.

I was wondering the same thing, but the announcers mentioned wind so I'm a little less critical. My first though when I see crazy catches is if a better route runner would have made it look like nothing.

The Marlins got their first win of the season (and the first win of new manager Skip Schumaker's managerial career) wearing their badass teal throwback jerseys today. I want to see them recapture the magic of '97 and '03 so bad.

After the first weekend, the Marlins are 1-3 and the Cardinals are 2-1. About what I expected from my teams, but hopefully the fish turn things around.

Robert has the tools to become a special player. Jury is still out on how much of his potential he can reach.

Chas McCormick with 3 SBs in the opening series, as opposed to 4 SB in each of his last two seasons. Imagine what someone like Rickey Henderson coulda done with these rules.

The Marlins won a 1-0 game today, a complete game shutout by reigning NL Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara, with a game time of just 1 hour and 57 minutes. In and out, easy as that.

godsdamnit comcast. the pirates and penguins play on different local channels tonight. i have both teams set to record every game.

i decide to watch the pens live, and the pirates immediately after... nope. comcast decides to record the game on Boston's extra innings channel, and it's obviously blacked out.

what. the. fuck. am i supposed to do with three hours of a blackout notice? thankfully, they're are replays on eventually. but those sometimes skip through the slow parts. (at least in seasons past. hopefully the shorter game times have ended that garbage practice, too)

Today's Cubs-Reds game is postponed for 5 months

Jays are back to 500. Had a bad first week but things are improving.

Also love seeing games being like... 2 hours, 2 hours and 15 minutes type stuff. Lots of stolen bases too.

probably, but they've been a fun watch so far. we'll see if it keeps up against teams that aren't also in the first draft pick hunt.

It's the best start since the 2016 Orioles from what I read. Still, they haven't exactly been playing good teams.

Marlins = 3-6
Cardinals = 3-5

Despite the Rays playing easy teams in this undefeated stretch, it's still pretty impressive that they're absolutely demolishing the competition. They play the Red Sox next, and I do expect the Sox to at least take a game. But their pitching is also quite bad.

It feels like Ollie's already lost the team at this point, especially after the Tyler O'Neill situation. We have a couple of hitters playing well (Arenado, Goldschidt, Gorman, and our hotshot rookie Jordan Walker) but the rest of the lineup is mediocre and our pitching is crap outside of Montgomery.

It's still early in the season though. Things can still turn around. I hope.
