given how the movie ends, is it safe to say it's the last one in the series? i haven't seen any confirmation on this but after Wick's demise, i dunno where they can go from here.

unless they made a spin-off based on Caine or Mr. Nobody which honestly, i wouldn't mind since those characters were pretty cool!

There's already a spin-off coming that takes place between 3 and 4

but from the way theyve been talking about it, they're pretty definitive about Wick being dead dead, so it seems they are serious about 4 being the end of john wick's story. of course, the way it's handled in the movie it's ambiguous enough they could pull the "lol he faked his death :^)" thing but I hope they don't.

another potential spin-off could be one involving Akira where she goes after Caine to avenge her father's death. i liked her character even tho she didn't have much screen-time...

Somehow, John Wick survived.

5 and 6 were greenlit before 4 even released. There were two endings of 4 made iirc, one where he died and one where be didn't. Stahelski supposedly went against the studio and chose the one where he died.

They're already in talks to make 5 though. So he's probably not dead. And I'm fine with that tbh seems like a franchise that can go on forever as long as the action pieces are awesome.

The places he got shot are the same places the doctor told him to shoot in 3 to make it look like he fought back. Winston and Morpheus were also ambiguous about his death and the dog perked up at the end looking off screen.

I think they left it ambiguous on purpose in case Keanu Reeves wants to do something.

A lot of those plans were before covid. 4 and 5 were supposed to get filmed b2b but instead got merged into one movie. The director recently said 5 isnt on the shelf right now. And again the ending is purposely left ambiguous, it sounds like the director, Reeves, and the studio all got what they wanted.

If you look at the directors page on IMDb, his 11 upcoming projects arent wick
