If From Software can revive a dead (but awesome) series that only 5 people ever played I don't see why Capcom can't bring Mega Man X back

It's sad how they finally figured out how to do MMX in 3D but the series got cancelled.

Because it's better to allocate their resources to games, such as Resident Evil and Monster Hunter, that will generate and profit billions and billions of dollars vs a series that will not generate nearly the same. Besides, Capcom has returned a ton of Megaman games such MM11 which came out 2 years ago, MMX Legacy and they got Battle Networks coming out soon. Be patient.

Fromsoft wasn't too popular until Dark Souls. ACVI won't be a Souls style game but it'll sell way more than previous entries in the series just because of what Fromsoft is now.

The reasons may vary but I'm betting it's because FS thinks their name will be more than enough to make Armored Core to be a big ass seller.

Mega Man 11 was the most forgettable game I ever played

I can easily recall the music of any MM game even if I played it just once. But nothing form MM11 stuck to me.

There has never been a series with 10,000 entries that complained more than Mega Man fans.

11 was glorious.

I'm not a big classic mega man fan but I had a lot of fun with MM11

I mean youd kinda have to go with the easy music criticism, right? Not much else to criticize. The game is fantastic and stands up next to any entry in the series.

The criticism is that even the weakest Mega Mans at least have great OSTs, but 11 somehow manages to be bad at everything

I mean, yeah, I got that you're criticizing the music. It's arguably the weakest of the original series.

I just think stopping there doesnt give a very accurate picture of the game. Not trying to say you're wrong or anything, though.

What do you want them to do in X9 anyway?
Do you just want more X games in general or do you just want to know how the series gets from X8 to Z1?

They're making more than enough money whoring X out in shit like Teppen. They don't need to make a new game.

Yeesh I just looked it up and they have Zero cosplaying other Capcom characters too. There's a Zero armor that turns him into Vergil and it's just about the lamest thing I've ever seen.
Might cause UMVC3 players some trauma too.

A new X would be cool, but all I want in life is a new Battle Network. I want the collection to sell so well that it happens. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Pretty sure the issue is that half the X series (the latter half, at that) ranges from okay to absolute trash.

Say what you will about how uninnovative the Classic series is, all of its entries are at least fun to play.

Like, I dont personally like how much 11 leaned on non-Classic mechanics and even I can admit it was fun when it wasnt all about slow-mo (It very much wasnt Mega Man Classic though).

I thoiught about this alot since I listen to video game soundtracks every day and when I get to MM11 it pisses me off the potential of the songs were there, just horribly implemented. I think its because theyre very unorthodox theme songs, not classic melodies like every other MM game. Theyre good when you listen to them, but very hard songs to remember cause they don't flow very well, so hard to remember off the top of your head. Too complex for their own good.

Classic melodies is the way to go for MM games to me. Easy to loop and remember. 3 measures usually.

I still want a game that connects the plot to the Megaman Legends universe with The Master, Elysium, the world flooding...

Where's my Enchanted Arms remake.

I have completed save data still of Mega Man X8 I don't think it is particularly good but certainly better than X7.

Not much they can do story wise tbh. Sigma is finally dead, the world is a post apocalyptic wasteland for the next few centuries at the least and there isn't much in the way of themes the series hasn't already touched on.

Plus I don't think they have anymore robot master names to choose from anymore after how bad the last two games were in said regard.

Did they? I thought the 3D games weren't received well.

I'd rather have Megaman Zero 5 than X9 at this point.

They should remake MegaMan x with the RE engine. I know Megan x7 sucked but tit could be pretty awesome, especially if they utilize bosses better.

All the destiny of destruction talk from ZX Advent ended up being real.

I want it so bad, but especially if they do it SNES style.

I had a similar idea. Use the DMC5 engine(which is RE Engine modified). Wont have to worry about that slow ass MMX7 anymore.

Make Zero control like Nero's sword mechanics and Dantes different weapons. Make X Control like the Dante's guns.

-Remove Wall descending, and make it so when you jump on walls you cling to them instead. Would work better with 3D.
-Auto-aim works like DMC5's auto-targetting, X buster is way faster as a result
-Platforming deaths is reduced significantly, make it more like a Metroidvania/DMC5 where you can never really fall to your death rather everything is connected. Platforming puzzles is mostly for secrets.

Main problem with X7 was the speed of the game was so slow. Hopefully 60FPS from DMC5's engine can fix that.

I really enjoy 11s OST a lot. Didnt care for it much at all at first, but I dunno, at some point it finally just clicked with me.

Yeah I liked mega man 11's ost enough. Blast man's stage was my favorite, but I also liked impact man's, tundra man's, fuse man's, and I really like the instrumental version of acid man's stage.

Really grown to like the gear stage theme since I replayed the first 1 so many damn times to get a good time on it. (Went for the platinum trophy and maaaaaan the first gears stage clapped my asscheeks).

Honestly overall I feel like the game had a better ost than mega man 5 and mega man 8's.

Also that unholy fusion of iris and colonel is really hot and should therefore be the canon version of the characters going forward.

I still don't know if X8 was actually good, or it just seemed like it because of the trash that was X7. If they made another, I would prefer it be a dedicated character at the start like in X4. Wasn't a huge fan of switching before each level and having to divide the upgrades.

X8 was surprisingly fun after the dumpster fire that was X7. I liked how zero gained different melee weapons, axl actually standing out from X with getting different guns, and X's custom armor thingy being alright. I also wasn't a fan of dividing upgrades like in X5, X6, and X7, so X8 actually fixed that by making them something you just buy with the in-game currency from the shop.

The main X8 negative I can think of is the game having a real freaking trashcan of a bike level. Really coulda' did without all that.
