Sometimes people who believe themselves untouchable find out they very much aren't.

Honestly, with the social climate as it is, I'm surprised billionaires go out in public as often as they do.

Feel sorry for the dudes family, but honestly, the fact that he is a billionaire is the only thing making this newsworthy. Normal people dying violently is expected. Ultra wealthy people dying violently is a national tragedy.

So, I doubt he is basing it on anything, but that doesn't make it not true.

"Data from 2021 shows that residents there face a 1-in-16 chance each year of being a victim of property or violent crime, according to the Hoover Institution, a policy research think tank, making the city more dangerous than 98% of US cities."

Pulled from the article posted in the OP.

Idk if you can even say this was motivated by his wealth, seems like just a random stabbing in a violent city.

Gotta wonder what someone with that kinda money was doing in such a bad area then.

Downtown SF is a 'Bad' area? Seems like the central Hub of the City. Never been there (heard it was really expensive) but want to visit.

Ah, data that doesn't match any other websites data from a conservative think tank about a liberal state. Surely no bias found.

Using data from 2021 for San Fran, there were 49 murders, 2,490 robberies, and 2,181 assaults. This puts the rate at 1 in 178 in actuality.

I live in a nicer area but if I drive 10 miles east I could get shot at a gas station. Tis America.

For me it's literally one road down. My road is pretty quiet. Next road over is gang territory

Looks like if you go by homicide rate San Fran is by far one of the safer large cities, if you go by just violent crime it's 40% above the national average which still puts it below many very big cities.
