Another night of robotic rasslin'

The main event tonight is Hydra vs. Sawblaze, a pair of 3-0 undefeated bots pitted against each other in a battle that may decide the #1 overall seed in the postseason tournament. They're not the only undefeated bots in action tonight, as surprising 3-0 contender Claw Viper takes on a desperate Hypershock looking to save their postseason chances. As a reminder, please put any discussion of match results under spoiler tags until 24 hours after the episode airs out of consideration for people who can't watch the episode live, especially if you decide to watch the episode early on Discovery+ before it airs on TV. Showtime is about an hour away.

Missed the last few topics of this. But this fight card looks great. Even the lower tier bots have interesting matchups that could be fun.

Hard to decide who to root for in Claw Viper vs Hypershock, Will Bales seems like such a cool dude but this has really been a breakout season for Claw Viper, seeing a speedy control bot like them go 4-0 would just be so cool.

IT'S ROBOT FIGHTIN' TIME! Lock-Jaw vs. Mad Catter starts us off

Gruff used to be a bot celebrated for their toughness, but now they've lost 3 fights by quick knockout and their only win this season was because Ripperoni's gyro went berserk and not because Gruff did anything notable. Time for the team to go back to the drawing board IMO.

The meme fight was as meme as expected, and Hypershock absolutely decimated Claw Viper to give them their first loss on the season. Hypershock may not be as fast in terms of top speed, but was maneuverable enough to keep their weapon pointed at Claw Viper, land some hits, and take control.

Big Dill and Lucky got some solid wins, and then Hydra won the ground game and dominated Sawblaze in the main event. After this week, there are only 3 episodes left in the regular season before we see the postseason bracket and move into the tournament.

Lockjaw and Madcatter were a slugfest.

Well, like Chris said, he'll be lucky to be invited to participate in next year's season. The direct upscaling of a beetle-weight bot just doesn't work in the format of Battlebots.

I'm actually a little shocked with how ineffective SawBlaze was. As soon as I saw they lost the ground game, I knew it would be tough, as you don't usually do well against flippers when that happens, but I knew a weapon that can directly just attack the top of Hydra would be a scary one for them.

Was really pulling for claw viper to win as it has been fun to watch this season, but I guess it was only a matter of time before one of the deadly bots would be able to counter it.

I know we are guaranteed one 4-0 bot because Witch Doctor vs Minotaur (and unless the fight is a dud, I would be shocked if that's not the finale of the regular season), but I wonder how many more we'll get. Two of the potential 4-0 bots lost this past episode.

Given how slow Hydra is on offense I wondered if they would approach at 10% power, just sort of coast into hammer-saw range. That might have worked.
