I don't think that's a thing. I think it's someone who is depressed and doesn't realize it so they don't even consider attempting to treat it.

Yeah that sounds like depression. Ageing shouldn't remove your ability to enjoy things.

I definitely don't get excited about certain stuff I used to be excited about, mostly big franchise stuff like Star Wars/Trek, comic book stuff, certain game series, etc. Mostly it's because the quality is shit, but part of it is me growing out of it I guess. When it's quality stuff I still get excited. For example, I couldn't wait to watch the next Better Call Saul episode and I'm still playing the hell out of Elden Ring. I'm sure depression factors in too.

The question is, Do you have the energy for something new?

I'm interested in plenty of things still, but I realize more and more of it involve being alone/free to enjoy it how I want.

I seem to be less extreme in both ranges. I don't get really doomerish and I don't get really excited. Just kinda neutral on many things

I still enjoy new game, but unfortunately not with the same amount of overwhelming joy I used to when I was a kid

You just need to accept it and learn to find enjoyment in the small things.

I mean no Im 30 and get excited for shit all the time. It also gets offset with feeling anxious though. Hope you find your way, tc. Chin up.

Seems like a YOU problem, and it looks like some self reflection, and trying to figure out why you feel this way.

You need to do something different than normal. When I get in a rut it just means I'm not in love with my current routine. Do all the chores in your house/apartment. Whatever you think "I'd rather be doing" while doing chores - that's what you should do when you finish.

Not really anymore. I fell out of games and movies in my mid/late 20s, but after going back to school and started going to the gym, I picked them back up, and am just as much into them as I was when I was younger.

Too depressed is definitely the more accurate answer.

In tiny bits I can still enjoy things. Just nowhere near the same level as I did when I was younger.

Congrats. I get glimpses and know it's possible. When I recovered from Covid I was on cloud 9 for almost a month and I was like "Holy shit, is this how it feels to not be depressed" >_>. Sadly, I reverted back to just glimpses. But knowing it's still possible for me specifically was a good thing.
