Ok, ive played Dark Souls so i know how the game basically works

Im just not sure what i should be doing. There is that scorpion boss guy but even after doing a ton of side stuff, I still cant beat him. Ive reclaimed the fortress for Fredrick or whatever his name was, discovered the undersorld, found the poison swamp with the weird spider ghost things.

I feel like i cant find any good weapons. Found a crappy halberd ,some daggers, and a bunch of swords. Most stuff i cant wield oroperly. Im using a broadsword ive enhanced and a shield. I still feel pathetically weak. Im also using a finger with some fire magic.

What should i be doing?

Anyway, have you tried using spirit ashes? He's very hard without the help, but with spirit ashes, he becomes a lot more doable.

Those are basically the add-ons you can attach to weapons, right? I have some.

Spirit ashes are basically creatures (and sometimes people) that you can summon to help out for boss battles or certain areas, and are different from NPC summons. You need to go to where Kale (the merchant) is at night time and get the spirit calling bell from the woman there before you can use them; she gives you the Lone Wolves ashes too, but Roderika (who can be found in the area leading up to Margit) gives the Spirit Jellyfish one, and I like her a lot, >.< . She's cute, tanky, and can inflict poison.

If you like, I can give you advice on where to find a weapon for your preferred playstyle.

Ah, i was wondering why i couldnt summon that jellyfish.

Also, i cant figure out how to use my quick item pouch, or the whirlwind things.

I think you're talking about the spirit springs? They're basically super-jumps for Torrent. They also negate fall damage if Torrent lands near one.

I dont know how to put items into the quick pouch, i mean.

Thanks for the spring help though. I didnt think it was for the mount

he's tough. you're supposed to bounce off of him and come back stronger.

On the "pause" screen, go to the right side on the main menu. You can assign items there. Four buttons are for the D-Pad, the others are just for quick access from the menu.

Took your advice. Starting using two handed R2 jump attacks, summoned the jellyfish, and Roger, and just absolutely stomped him. Felt good. Playing two-handed also feels like a game changer.

Two-handing a weapon functionally gives you 1.5x strength for that weapon. So if it has a strength requirement, you need less actual strength and you get a bonus to strength scaling.
