You don't have as much mobility so it's harder to get in, you can't mash for combos and need to time your inputs for strings and combo inputs are a bit more complicated. As someone who made the transition within the last year, I can promise you there is almost no translatable skills between SSB and SF. Hell, very little of them even branch out to other platform fighters like Rivals of Aether or Brawlhalla. At least with other "traditional" fighters, there's a lot of intersects with other FGC players. The biggest obstacle for many Smash players are the button inputs to do specials. I'm trying to imagine if this kind of debate existed within shooters Smash is pretty widely agreed to be a platformer fighter with occasional ties to the FGC through a handful of majors. Smash is much larger than most FGC titles and has its own events and there's not a ton of motivation for exact crossover outside of a handful of Midwestern FGC events and Canada Cup Certainly not a trad fighter and Leffen proves you can be good at both, but the incentive to do so is low. --- Enjoy movies and television?
