He tries to comfort Rikku when her home is destroyed (he flubs it, but you can tell he actually wants to help her). He gives his kid an Al Bhed name. Given a lifetime of conditioning against the Al Bhed, his reformation is impressive and quick. Every character is flawed in some way and a large part of their journey is in addressing those flaws. Eidolons exist, in a meta sense, in order to guide the characters when their flaw creates a fatal flaw in succeeding their focus. Gogo deserves some props for being a playable character who is ostensibly from another FF.
