I've only played 6ish hours so far, but I'm absolutely loving it. Won't be able to dedicate a full day/evening for a couple more days, but this is the most fun I've had with a FF game in a VERY long time, and hell, honestly a lot of newer games in general.

Yeah that trailer was... something. I think I'm still gonna check it out, but I'm gonna go into it thinking of it as a very loose adaptation/its own thing, I think that's the only way I'll be able to enjoy it. Luffy's demeanor was def the biggest turn off for me. I didn't mind most of the costumes/character desgins except Buggy, what the actual fuck was that.

Finished up the fishman island arc. wasn't the best arc, but it was fun, sorta! love the crew's demeanor and unwillingness to be the hero of the people; they're pirates, dammit!!

Finally, seasons 14 and 15 dropped on Netflix.

Haven't watched One Piece in years, but when I used to I'd say Sanji was easily one of the most annoying characters. With his only saving grace not being worse than Usopp.

His character didn't evolve much passed the whole horny simp shtick, and it got old pretty fast. The only arc it was mildly entertaining is when he was dropped on a trans(?) or drag queen(?) Island.

Marineford best arc

Man, this arc has been fucking insane. Some crazy ass fights, and lots of twists at every corner.

Impel Down/Marineford is some top tier One Piece. While I do miss the rest of the crew (minus Sanji), this arc has really made me fall in love with Luffy. Hes always been great, but hes really gotten a chance to shine here.

Impel down is top tier for sure

Magellan is bad ass. hope to see him later on. marineford has had the most epic moments packed together and some good exposition. hate how it ended tho...u_u

Also like Buggy and Mr. 3 a lot more after this arc. Both got a lot of character development, but Buggy stumbling himself to more and more reverence amongst the prisoners he (begrudgingly) saved is fucking amazing.

Youre taking the journey. One Piece is a masterpiece in terms of world building, and stands above its peers in that particular medium in terms of writing.

Looks like imma bout to get a flashback mini-arc, so before that happens I just wanna double down real quick:

They literally spent essentially 2 arcs building up this quest to save Ace, focusing almost solely on Luffy, letting him grow as a character while having him completely focused on saving his brother

Just to still kill Ace off at the end. And then, on top of that, they killed Whitebeard immediately after, who while had only been seen a couple times prior, had been clearly established as a major player and important character even if just in lore alone.

Gotta be real, its hard to find shows that have that much gall to do something like that.

and god fucking damn it, Im not even halfway through the show!

Impel Down/Marineford has cemented my love for this show, and I think at this point, Im officially all in. Sanji might (and will) do more creepy stuff in the future, there may be moments that let me down, but I think after this, I can safely say Im down for whatever comes my way. This last arc fucking earned it, on top of how much I already enjoyed everything prior.

I can get why some people wouldnt love that arc(s), but holy fuck man, while it did fucking hurt me, I loved it.
