Rinoa sucks ass-- she's the worst love interest in the series.

I hate Rinoa

I would vote for the character from the game I've played, but Rinoa's character and development is so jank. She and everyone else in the world act like she and Squall are destined to be together, but he hates her guts until he abruptly decides she's the most important thing in the world. The part where she feels lonely and left out amongst the orphanage crew is almost interesting and her inheriting sorcery gets neat, but the romance plot is so bad.

She's pretty cool in Dead Fantasy though. But that's not fair cuz everyone is awesome there.

You're right I'm sorry. Funny how the models look so dated given all the tools fan creators have nowadays. But the choreography is still so fun.

Rinoa is a bit inconsistent and annoying, but she's actually a character.

Every time I played I sent Rionna to the missile factory.

I played FF8 and do not remember Rionna at all. Given I haven't played it since the Playstation 1 era though.

I actually was on team Lightning shockingly enough for the last "Cid" too bad FFXIV Cid isn't here that guy was cool. Also FFIV Cid is ridiculous He fucking just blows himself up with a bomb to seal a passage off while jumping off an airship nontheless and then you see him later just sleeping it off in Baron and being like nah man I'm good. But yeah I really need to just rest a lot and won't be joining your party again.

I still want to vote for a FFIV character again, oh that zany game!

I'm gonna throw a bone to one of the few FF4 characters I remember genuinely liking (even if he's eventually just another in the cavalcade of characters who sacrifices his body to get the group out of a jam, which has always been my chief complaint with 4's story).

I don't strictly hate Rinoa, and I like some of the later contributions she makes to the plot by simple virtue of being present. But out of the franchise's love interests, she's definitely the weakest.

You actually get an extended FMV cutscene when the Garden takes flight if you take Rinoa to Balamb. Probably not much of an incentive nowadays, but hey, PS1-era FMVs were still a major draw the last time I played FF8, lol.
