Unlikely unless I either win the lotto or get extremely lucky to get big money on an investment

Absolutely not. The way my financial situation and job prospects are as it is, even if I were to somehow go back to school and get a degree to fluff my resume up, I'll never be able to live independently.

Yeah, our plan is to retire once our youngest kids are in college other than my wife almost assuredly still day trading.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

Possibly, but only because I managed to buy a nice house at 26 and don't ever plan on selling it.

Also have a 401k but I just started it this year at 30 and only put like 3% in.

Yes. Bought a house at 25, and DINC. We both make good money, and I plan to attempt to retire at 50 so I can enjoy the outdoors. We're up about 100k on our house and I expect to make money when we sell it and move up north in 10 or so years.

You're behind. You should have 1x your annual income in your 401k at 30 (at the very least).

Yeah

Mortgage is paid off and ive been maxing out IRA and 401(k) since my mid 20s

Non retirement savings is picking up too

If i can stay employed like this i can probably retire somewhat early

That said, i expect tech salaries to crash or at # of jobs in the industry to shrink big time
So i kind of suspect there will be a career pivot and pay cut in my future that takes me off the early retirement track

Yes I could probably retire right now cause I got all my stuff and no debt. If I get laid off from work then I'm ok with being a stay at home dad. I might keep working for a couple more years cause it looks bad that I'm staying at home playing video games all day.

I work for the state of California, so I will retire no problem. But I started a bit late, so I'd only get 39% of my salary if I retire right at 55 (would be 74% if I started with them right at 18). So either I work until age 60, or I hope that my retirement savings can supplement enough to retire early. Time will tell

it def doesn't hurt, but i would personally tend to you 401k/IRA if you can! It's no coincidence that when I talk to my seniors often their biggest regret is "I wish i started saving for retirement sooner". Some people don't start until their 40s, and it's a huge uphill battle at that point.
