Like I said in the topic on the Smash board, Mario is one thing but Zelda is not a good fit for Illumination.

I hope Nintendo pushes harder for no pop music.

Whether this specific rumor is true or not, I think a Zelda movie happening is still a no-brainer given the success of the Mario movie.

Im not really a fan of Illuminations style of humor.

Such a bad, bad idea. The story in Zelda games is by far its worst component. Zelda games almost never have a good story.

TotK is amazing, and I am obsessed with playing it, but I find myself skipping most dialogue and cutscenes because the entire IP's story is just so bad.

Making a movie out of it would be like isolating the one bad thing from an amazing IP, and then taking that one bad thing and magnifying it to consume everything else.

Great, that's just another guaranteed cycle of people crying about a movie pre-release because they hate that a AAA animated film is going to hire more AAA actors to do voice work instead of a bunch of no-name voice talent that nobody has ever heard of, more chuds crying because the movie has strong female leads "girl bossing" or whatever they fuck they love crying about, then turning around and saying they actually love the movie as some sort of weird gotcha.

They'll get so money hungry, they could eat an Octorok.

An animated Zelda movie would be great, but Illumination is possibly the worst one they could've gone with. Their animation/humor style was alright for the Mario movie but I can't see it fitting Zelda. Hell, I think Illumination for anything other than Mario stuff and Donkey Kong wouldn't fit. Can you imagine Illumination doing a Metroid movie? Ugh.

To ride off the success of current Zelda they could've gone with a more serious animation studio like Studio Ghibli or something.

I suspect some people will cry foul if they have Impa or Ganon be portrayed by racial minorities.

The team that did Del Toro's Pinocchio should do a Majora's Mask movie.
