There was a mission like this too in Yakuza 3 where Kiryu had to carry a large multiple scoop ice cream cone to an awaiting family. (I played 5 before 3) and haha some of these side missions can be a bit annoying, but also so heart warming at the same time. That Saejima mission with everyone sliding around in the winter is so funny. I don't want to spoil more winter shenanigans.

Glad you liked it Neon. I forget some details, but yeah I didn't even want to spoil side stories or anything like that here at times intentionally. I will say though since you got to the town have you found the snowball fight mini game (I mentioned that early). I played that way too much. But I wanted you to hopefully find the Santa Hunters quest on your own.

I haven't found it yet. I know about its existence but that's it.

Man, it is so hard to dodge encounters in this city because of how tight the sidewalks are. Fuck this city >_>

Yea that does suck. After awhile fighting serves no purpose especially later on. CyricZ did say you wouldn't like this city, but if it wasn't for those crosswalks it'd be great. (I love Kiryu's place actually). Why did they decide that. Probably the dumbest thing about the game tbf I remember visiting way later and I just wanted to get some ambiance and go to the club these constant fights were unavoidable.

Yeah so far I have 3 problems with this game:

-the encounter rate is absolutely extreme. And even if you get into a fight, it doesn't cull any encounters nearby and you can end up having a 2nd fight within a few seconds
-Kiryu and Saejima have kind of shit cities >_> I know Sotenbori and Kamurocho are in the game, which are fine. idk what Shinada's city is gonna be like but I don't have high hopes for it at this rate
-A lot of these cutscenes drag on so fucking loooooong. You get the point of the scene quickly, but then they overexplain it for like 10 more minutes >_>

Otherwise everything in this game is absolutely aces so far!

I'll give you the encounter rate being too jacked up. But I do really like Kiryu's city. It also reminds me of one that was in 0 (which would make sense since it was developed after this game). I like the cutscenes sure they are long. Also have you played 6, I think it's an half hour cutscene at least before you can do anything. Kojima was like damn those RGG guys/gals trying to out do me!?

But tbf Saejima's city sucks. I got soo annoyed I could only ever cross at crosswalks which leads into the encounter rate.

Also the whole plot about Majima being dead I know is bullshit because I played Yakuza 7 lol. Oh well >_>

I am so upset I can't find the name of my bear picture. I took it while playing Yakuza 5 on my ps3 I know it's there but it isn't triggering with what it should be called. I had the camera in one hand putting my character prone and trying to steady my hand and it came out great. Reminds me of a dumb NHL 2K8 hockey picture I took with a friend because I was updating the rosters and wanted be like yeah we still doin' it.

So the worst part of Y5 is Saejima's city so at least you're finishing that. It's an absolute speedrun killer for the encounters alone.

That snowball mini game everyone is praising fucking sucks so hard to me. I hate it a lot.

This is the game where Akiyama gets his little charged air kicky combo thing, right? If so, I wouldn't say he's been nerfed at all, just slightly harder to play.

Akiyama's nerfed in the sense that he can't do stylish infinite combos like he could in 4. He does still have an infinite with square-square-triangle-triangle, but it's not as dynamic and it doesn't work on everything. I also just feel like his boss fights in general are lower quality than the few he had in 4, especially his final boss. He's still fun to play as, I just vastly prefer his 4 counterpart.

Yakuza 5 is the one that is the most unabashedly Christmas-focused when you get to certain substories.

Yakuza 0 is set during Christmas but barely anyone mentions it. Yakuza 6 also.

I spent a lot of time with that hostess for some reason. I guess I thought it was interesting how she wanted to be a weather woman but her dialect wasn't good for tv.

I also did honestly laugh at those pictures you posted about her breasts and asked those questions too.
