Starting to get a little tired of them. Theres millions of universes with tons of versions of everyone but uh oh someone can go between them or theyre breaking down the borders between them!

I cant believe this is now a trope/cliche.....

DC had so many multiverses so it is not even fun. Heck, they even had one that was an apocalyptic future based on goddamn Tintin!!!
Pretty much every Star Trek series got at least one episode about multiverses.
Red Dwarf have jumped the multiverses multiple times.
Sliders is about jumping between multiverses.

Now?
The Cell Saga created multiple ones back in the days.

They're kind of weird with that.

The Cell Saga thing were multiple timelines, while Super introduced the concept of outright separate universes in the wider multiverse. Though I believe timelines in Dragon Ball supercede the multiverse, given the whole Zamasu Saga.

What I like about the multiverse concept is that it basically means that fanfiction / rule 34 content is canon to some universe out there.

Right. They were doing that in Star Trek as far back as the original series with the mirror universe episode. So the multiverse as a sci fi trope goes at least as far back as the 1960s and I'm sure there are examples even earlier than that.

Lets break TCs mind.
The MCU itself is just another multiverse, Marvel have done them since the 70s.

Them being interconnected should take a break here and there to keep it exciting when it does happen. Otherwise it should stay cause It's a convenient writing tool to write a new story with similar or same characters and not have to worry about contradictions
